There are no chickens, plenty of rather dumb Wood-pigeons about though squabbling with one another.
Cheers, Glad you enjoyed :)

I've not had time for Modular much lately, still noodling but I haven't recorded anything for a while. This started by Matrix mixing a VCO with some LFO's then wave folding some of it while letting the rest out fairly clean. I'm quite enjoying the twinkly stuff going into Mimeophon. Thanks for listening

Sounding great, I quite fancy a Verbos harmonic oscillator but its a chunk of cash I don't have. I need to sell the wife or something!

Thats some Twinkly $h!t right there
Using Monsoon Clouds in Resonator mode, split to Disting on Stereo Tape Delay and Mimeophon. Marbles is in control, Divkid/Instruo Ochd is modulating and the 2hp RND is modulating Ochd. There is a Water sample playing in the Prok-RadioMusic. Some noise through a filter sweep and some base Triangle wave through the DannySound Timbre. SSF Vortices on panning control of these last two parts.

Pretty much the last patch I posted but with sort of percussion-linked Theremin samples being modulated in a Prok BD flashed as a RadioMusic, saves me building a Radio Music.

+1 on the Befaco OUT https://www.modulargrid.net/e/befaco-out-v3 Its especially well-priced if you fancy a bit of soldering and will take you down to Line-Level from Modular.

Using the Acidrain Chainsaw going two ways, and some samples from a Prok-turned Radio Music. I was meaning to change the chords with the QuantGemi from NoiseEngineering but completely forgot. Arpeggio from 2hp ARP, which was split to 3 octaves which I didn't end up playing.
Thanks for listening.

The Vortices feels like it needs its own dedicated Mixer to go with the Mixer ;-)

I'm coming to believe that there is actually no perfect module, unless you buy all modules from 1 manufacturer or maybe 1 long row of just Mutable Instruments!
Take the great mixer from SSF, the Vortices, I'd like to have all my mixing done at the bottom right hand side of my case but to get anything like good ergonomics with the Vortices it has to go 1 row up, then I have a Happy Nerding 4x Mix the row above feeding the Vortices using Tendrils patch leads so I can access the Vortices knobs. I also have a HN PanMix Jr but that is back-connected to the 4x Mix.

Thanks Garfield, no brewery sounds in this one, I should use some brewer sounds as percussion sometime as some of the Pump noise I've recorded with Contact Mics onto pipes would work well through the Patching Panda Punch VCA.
The cat likes cuddles, thankfully she's not chewed any cables for ages now, she knows she gets cuddles when I'm playing the modular.

You might need to crank up the volume on this.
Three sound sources, the Noise from Kinks, Error Instruments Indian Resonator and an Ambient field recording, Threw a few beats in the middle too. Some joystick play effecting the Indian Resonator though there is some Random and LFO hitting the joystick too. Later on I'm riding the Feedback and joystick while the Pitch CV is being modulated from the NE Clep Diaz.
Listen out for the Frog croaks and the Ice Cream Van :)

I've built a couple of Frequency Central kits, I could write better build guides, the one's I've used were vague and outdated and lack proper clarity for simple key bits.
Had my eye on that Stasis Leak though.

Using the VCA inputs on the SSF Vortices as Mutes by sticking patch leads into them. Bit of a bodge in the middle where I decided it was a good idea (it wasn't) to bring in the Error Instruments Indian Resonator.
Cheers for listening :)

Hey, thanks very much :)
There is definitely lots of scope for ambient sound, the little clicky static crackle stuff is great to add a decayed natural feel.

Stereo channel 1 of SSF Vortices is the IRv4 with added Sine wave going through the DannySound Timbre and then into Mimeophon.
Stereo channel 2 of SSF Vortices is the IRv4 Drum-Output going into a bit of delay from the Erica PICO DSP.
Stereo channel 3 of SSF Vortices is the IRv4 with a nice wash of Monsoon Clouds Reverb.
DivKid / Istruo Ochd and 2hp RND are doing all the CV control of IRv4 along with swiping the Color control on Mimeophon.

I agree about the 2hp modules, I leave 1hp between all 2hp modules if they are next to each other, or near a line of Befaco Hexmix inputs as they'll be almost unusable.

This is one for owners of the Steady State Fate Vortices mixer
https://www.modulargrid.net/e/steady-state-fate-vortices
It feels like a mixer that should or could live right in the middle of the rack as you end up with a load of patch leads heading to it from all angles. So where do you have yours?
Also does anyone have any suggestions of another mixer that would pair well with the Vortices?

One Oscillator, the STO from MakeNoise, I'm finally getting around to using the S-Gate which drives the acid line triggered by the Noise Engineering Bin Seq so can control the pattern on the fly, the Sub of the STO goes into the ReBach VCF-AB which turns anything into dirty acid synth! The Tri output of the STO goes into Monsoon Clouds for a nice wash of sound, then the Sine output of the STO heads into the DannySound #Timbre for some subtle wavefolding before it hits the Make Noise Mimeophon which is clocked.
The nice little blippy filter sweeps come from the FrequencyCentral Boom!
Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for listening / Watching.

Yeah its definitely in there @farkas its currently doing some hi perc stuff via the ADDAC103 and triggering a synth line. I don't always hit it with CV though and just tweak it manually to find a nice pattern.

I have a https://www.modulargrid.net/e/dnipro-modular-dot-black-panel which is a really simple Euclidean trigger sequencer with CV control. Its nice to use for incidental percussion that flutters around the main percussion and with the CV you can make it change over time.

I find as soon as I integrate any module within 3-4 rows of other modules then almost no module has any ergonomics.
Maybe if all you had was one long row of Mutable Instruments gear ;-)
If all manufacturers did the following and users planned their modular this way:
Users only ever to have VCO's at Top, Filter / VCA below / mixing & effects below.
...then...
Manufacturers have VCO output at the bottom of the modules, filter and VCA inputs at top with outputs at bottom, then effects and mixing all having inputs and outputs at top.
Any module less than 3hp would be Banned and only Blank Gap-fillers allowed.

If its any help, It might not be, I've thrown loads of modules at my 2x uZeus Power modules with the standard power bricks and they perform admirably.
I was considering selling them as I upgrade my Konstantlab setup but I'll probably keep them for later skiff or small case builds cos they do take a lot of sh!t without complaining. :)

and thanks @farkas I'm finding a kick made with a ADSR has more scope for sound shaping thought the simple decay on the Patching Panda Punch works well enough.

Making my own Kick in this from Befaco Even VCO sine and Patching Panda Punch.
The new toy in the mix is the SSF Vortices Mixer, so there are a couple of LFO panned mono parts, the bass line is panned before going into Mimeophon and and a sort of acid blip from the Frequency Central Boing!
