The one withing I wish the BSP had was a programable step sequencer like a 303 (Press a note it moves a step, press a rest it moves a step etc etc), so you literally program the steps rather than having to stab things in while its playing.

Thanks very much.
Techno / Trance was at its peak in the 90's for me, though things were starting to get too minimal for me as in I do like a bit of Jeff Mills but I can't listen to it for a long time.

Unpopular opinion: If they don't make actual modules they shouldn't be listed as a manufacturer.

Its a bit chaocic with the modes changing on Plaits but Sloths makes for a nice long cycle of changes as part of the mixed modulation.

a filter can go before or after the vca... whichever way sounds best for you in the current patch...

-- JimHowell1970

If you are using a filter when its self-oscilating the VCA is best after the Filter so you can shut off the notes.

If it were me I would look for modulation souces of randomness and probability you can do something simple like using NLC Sloths to modulate Ochd or add small utilities like Noise Engineering's Clep Diaz for some clocked but random modulation, the 2HP RND is a good one and doesn't take any room up. I quite like the Befaco Burst because it has a probability control and a lot of control over its bursts though it is Clocked so expect a regular clock tick to come out of it which usually works for me but i sometimes wish it wasn't there when I want less structure. You can get little CV and gate generators like the ST Modular Isi Wren which is surprisingly useful for Rhythmic control of Filters etc.
You can't knock an un-clocked Mutable Instruments Marbles with its range of CVs and Gates.

Could be tricky without something with an EOC (End Of Cycle) output, though it is possible without EOC it just won't quite self-trigger so you would have to look for a random trigger from someowhere else, I would look at vids from Robin Vincent here - and Red Means Recording here -

My preference is to use VCAs for more VCA stuff, if you are mixing the 2x Stereo outs you'd take up all 4 chanels of Quad VCA and end up with Mono. Happy Nerding make 4xMix which is a compact 4hp mixer - https://modulargrid.net/e/happy-nerding-4x-stereo-mix
If you want something with a bit more scope then the DPW Designs M1 adds stereo panning and a bunch of other things https://modulargrid.net/e/dpw-design-m1-mix but its more HP

My only gripe with modules are the Tact switches (Buttons) that can sometimes be a bit fickle and an area that quite a few manufactureres could look for more solid components.

Overall though, I only have 1 module that I bought second hand that has developed a fault, it still works and has all functions but there is an intermittent fault in either the multi-colour LED or the Tact switch on my Erica Pico DSP.

I've something like 89 modules and have been 'collecting' / 'feeding my habit' since 2019 with very good longevity of modules.

I'm going to say no. There are 4 independent tuning knobs on that module, though if tuned once it will probably stay tuned between power cycles assuming you let it warm up for a few mins before using.

I think all my effects will normal a mono input but some effects will further Stereo-ize.
Mimeophon has some nice ping-pong style features and it will also put the delay in the opposite channel to the initial signal.
Clouds has a knob for stereo seperation.
ZVERB is only mono-in but Stereo out.
Veno Echo does all sorts of stereo fun from a Mono input.
Pico DSP is mono in and Stereo out, think that depends on the mode you have set.

I've never been a fan of the rackbrute - don't like the design - and the power solution is m'eh - rackwart & all -
-- JimHowell1970

My experience of the Rackbrute wasn't good, Power module got so hot that is always smelled like melting plastic, sent it back, manufacturer repaired, lost confidence in the case and sold on. It even made my modules run hotter than my 2x TipTop UZeus power. Now I'm on Konstantlab power for my bigger case and my 2x small cases are on the uZeus and no overheating.

Not sure there is a such a thing as a proper mains powered 2hp module, though if you can power via USB then there is this from Rakits https://www.rakits.co.uk/product/go/ which might let you lighten the load on the Rackbrute.
-- wishbonebrewery

That would imply that my pc would need to be running as well.
Don't like that idea but thnx for the suggestion.
