Hi Wishbonebrewery,

Oh wow, so fast already a jam with your new module, nice! :-) Indeed interesting this Mimeophon, so what are you saying, that I should get one too? ;-) I will put it higher up in my wish list :-D

Thanks a lot for demoing the Mimeophon and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Nokulture,

Totally different style than that track I just previously listened at from you and yet very interesting. With a bit of fantasy this could be a great soundtrack for a fantastic movie :-D

Nicely done! Thank you very much for sharing this and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Paratek,

Hmm, no info in the manual (of A-118-1) and no information about it on doepfer.de either :-(

Sorry, no idea, perhaps send an E-mail to Doepfer? Please let us know in case you might figure it out, I would be interested in knowing too. Thank you and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Molerat99,

This is a very nice track, almost like a soundtrack, on the other hand hearing ambient and new age influences too. I don't mind more tracks like this, especially when they are longer :-)

Thanks a lot for sharing this and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Bleepadelic,

How nice subtle is this track? Wow! Beautifully done and so good "under control" as I call it. Perhaps I should consider a Subharmonicon? :-)

Thanks a lot for sharing this and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Molerat99,

That sounds almost like a soundtrack to me with some great ambient influence. Together with the video, I think you got a nice video jam here! For which movie was this soundtrack again? ;-)

Nicely done and I look forward in hearing & seeing more from you. Kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Wishbonebrewery,

Pity of the Roland SH-01, on the other hand interesting that you are getting soon a Mimeophon. Please let us know your experience with that one and hopefully a nice jam with it as well? :-)

I am still hesitating about the Mimeophon however perhaps with a jam from you demoing the Mimeophon, I am perhaps able to confirm I want one :-) Kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Wishbonebrewery,

That's a lovely video, it's a nice "by night" to watch video while listening to your live jam. Almost 21 minutes of sonic pleasure to close this weekend. I was worried that my Sunday would be yet another boring one, you prevented that of happening. This is what we need to finish off the weekend with :-)

I really enjoyed it and like to thank you for that! Kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Bleepadelic,

Quite amazing to get results like this with synths synthing themselves, he he, funny phrase too :-) Pitty that Ableton broke off your recording, would have been interesting to see (hear) how that would have continued.

Thanks a lot for sharing this and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Gabor,

Ha, ha, yeah, this sounds like you had a lot of fun! :-) Nice interesting track from you. After this message, I am going to listen at it again, so much (sonic fun) to discover!

I think this is one of those tracks, the more you listen at them, the more you are going to appreciate it and after a while, you just can't let them go, you must hear it otherwise you are missing something :-) I love that!

Thanks a lot for sharing this with us and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Cmb_,

Oh wow! This is some interesting stuff :-) To me it sounds like experimental, kind of (almost) orchestral and modern classical music. Nicely done!

I only listened to the first track. I will be honest with you, I am not very comfortable with downloading files (regarding possible security aspect), so I haven't listened to the other files. Not sure if I stand here alone in this matter, however for myself, I would appreciate if you can release your music on well-known sites so (from a security point of view) I would feel a bit more comfortable. Examples (but not exhaustive) are: soundcloud.com, bandcamp.com and youtube.com, naturally there are many more however these three are the ones you see most here I think.

Thank you very much for sharing this with us and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Mod Life Crisis,

Ha, ha, I thought already I recognised the voice of Kim Jung Johnson ;-) As well as that you meant it sarcastically, hence my reference to the UK band Latin Quarter :-)

Anyway, better not getting too political, that's not wanted on this forum. I look forward to your next new album or another nice video jam? :-) Kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Matteo,

Don't forget to have a look at some of the modules from Frequency Central, quite a few are based on Roland as well.

Additionally to Frequency Central modules, Happy Nerding Super Sawtor seems to sound like Roland's Supersaw from JP-8000.

Intellijel's Dual ADSR has been based on SH-101 and System 100m.
Similar related seems to be Bubblesound Instruments dlADSR module.

Intellijel's Metropolis or nowadays Metropolix is perhaps not from a sound point of view related to Roland however it is related to Roland's sequencer approach. Similar for Scales from Intellijel.

The Behringer 1xx, 297 and 305 modules seem to be based on Roland System 100m.

EMW's VCF S100 is based on Roland's System 100m filter.

I didn't mentioned the modules related to Roland's TR-808 and/or TR-909 then that would have been a huge list ;-)

Good luck for the search of some more nice Roland related modules and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Splendor,

That's a beautiful and tidy setup. Slightly bit small for my taste but it's a pleasure to the eyes! :-)

I had a look on your website and listening now to some of your tracks. Are you by any chance making this music for Minecraft? Would fit good into that community I guess :-)

I wish you lots of fun and sonic pleasure with your beautiful setup, enjoy! Have a good weekend and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Jihel,

Wow, I am overwhelmed with the number of great sounds and surprises you have "built-in" your tracks. Experimental but with intriguing content that make me sit at the tip of my chair can't wait for the next second to pass, the next surprise you will have. Now this is something really special and that for the start of the weekend, fantastic! :-)

Thank you very much for sharing this with us and kind regards, Garfield.

P.S.: Some little parts (some of the "fun" sounds) of your track "Low fly of drones under the clouds" reminds me of Isao Tomita! Nice :-)

Hi Mod Life Crisis,

Oh yes, a complete album made by you! I am struggling with writing yet another review report however by listening at your album suddenly this work becomes more pleasantly. Once and a while I can't work on the review report because your music needs my attention :-)

Which module did you use for that robot voice?

In a few tracks I recognise here and there bits of Latin Quarter ;-) I love that kind of yelling sound in "I Struggle To See", nicely done!

Great album and I continue to listen at it, I want to hear all of it! Thank you very much for sharing this and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Exposure,

Nice! A recording from you, that has been awhile ago indeed :-) But you nailed it with Star Club Kaoos, great, high energy tune that has great variations and sounds indeed you had tons of fun! It's tons of fun to listen at too :-D

How was that club called in 1988, also Star Club Kaoos? It was back in 1988 when I had been there on Ibiza... can't remember the club names though I have been.

Ha, ha, your filter-fun just before 4:30 is great! Nice one and thanks a lot for sharing this, kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Zuggamasta,

Yeah! Another donut jam from you :-) Great fun as always and here and there I discover some real interesting and nice sounds, lovely!

Most modules you mentioned, I don't have experience with them, so I can't help with those, however I have a Plaits and never regretted it. You called it a powerhouse of a module, well in a way it is perhaps but don't expect a magical module that can do everything. It's a really great sound generating module though, lots of fun is possible with it.

Good luck with your rack planning and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Stephen,

Thanks a lot for sharing your video with us, nice, informative and entertaining that is :-) So conclusion... I should stick with my Eurorack rack and not consider the 5U rack system? ;-) Anyway, I don't have the space for such a large 5U system, it's nice to see you have one 5U wall full of it though :-D

Glad to see you have a Roland FA-06 too, I got the FA-06 before I got into Eurorack, nowadays using it too less (focussing too much on Eurorack), it's indeed a great workstation!

Kind regards, Garfield Modular.

Hi Wishbonebrewery,

Oh no, you didn't? :-) You provide here over 18 minutes of sonic pleasure! Wow, the tension is so strong, finally can start to breath-in again around 3 minutes when your next voice kicks in, so beautifully done!

Seriously pity of those ticks caused by your sound card, that, to be honest, spoils it a bit for me, but otherwise this is just superb!

Then around 5 minutes you build up another tension that I almost can't take it ;-) When you build up yet again, I get goose bumps! Here and there this reminds me a bit of a modern Jean-Michel Jarre of his earlier days :-)

Just emotionally being able to all cope with this where you around 7:30+ and after 8:00 seriously sound like the next J.M. Jarre! Jeepers, this is seriously good! The next time I talk to Mr. Jarre I will recommend him that he should consider you as his successor ;-)

Beside the sound card you might need to have a look at your recording volume as well, is it perhaps a bit too loud? Or has that been caused by the sound card too?

I don't mind to have an album Oxygene - Part IV like this ;-) This is how weekends should be closed down! Thank you very much and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Nokulture,

Oh this is a beautiful and playful jam. Must have been a lot of fun when you were busy with it :-) So many nice interesting sounds you are using here and I am impressed by the recording quality other than perhaps a bit too much on the left channel, it sounds really crystal clear, nice! How did you manage to get that crystal clearness in your recording?

I can't wait to hear more done from your hands and kind regards, Garfield.

Hi Sacguy71,

Nice video and you got an interesting melody going on there, how did you manage to do that? Random created or did you use a kind of Midi file or... how? :-)

Almost sounds like some violin/cello kind of symphony strings!

Two interesting tracks. With the first track I was thinking that actually no matter what you are able to do with your Cocoquantus, you are always be able to let me sit at the tip of my chair and listen what you are delivering us here :-) Very intriguing.

The second track is a great jazz track that, in my opinion, can keep up with the great jazz names and producers, this is seriously beautifully done! I love this! Did you play the sax or did you use samples?

After the just beautiful weekend we experienced here at the You section, I thought this can't be topped, but you just did it and that on a Monday! :-D
