Yes, I usually have the Doepfer spring reverb feedback output patched to a VCA or low pass gate and then into a delay and/or filter. Controlled feedback is so fun.
Let us know how it goes once you start adding some modules.

You are most welcome, as the unique person she is, Emilie thrown a stone on the water when offering a last update while closing her business, and yes, what an update!

If you want to process external sounds, I would recommend an input module that includes an envelope follower (so that the incoming sound also produces a control voltage that triggers other things in the system). Doepfer makes an inexpensive one, but I didn't care for that one, so I use a Future Sound Systems TG5 which is killer. I do love the Doepfer spring reverb though. In fact, I recently weighed the pros and cons of the Erica, Intellijel, and Doepfer spring reverbs, and decided that the Doepfer was the best option for me. Finally, you may want to check out the Soma Lyra FX module for deep, dark delays. Seems like it might be valuable for the sounds you are trying to make.
Have fun and good luck.

Thanks Farkas, I wil have a look at the other spring reverb units. I realy love to use them as a feedback soundsource. The idea to have the input sounds as triggers sounds very interesting! Hahaha I played with the Soma Lyra a while ago and almost bought one, I realy loved it but decided to save my gear budget for my modular built and now you tell me that I can have the Lyra effects in my modular! these are the tips I am looking for🥳.

Could anybody with the module let me know: Does the module only take a regular clock input or can it subdivide irregular rhythms? As in, output every 2/3/4... step of a Euclidean rhythm
Do I dare, o why not?! I like black panels and I like black synthesizers. I have trouble with the silver and white panels gives me the feeling that I am in a hospital. Uhm ok well, my two cent's.
I do also have the ADE-50 which usually leaves me with plenty of vcas...or at least it hasn't been a problem yet.
Bah, my too casual a look blended the ADE-50 with the Maths, totally missed it. Cheers.

It's all good, friend, thanks for taking a look and for the listen! :)
What a lovely little system! I enjoyed the low end of your patch a lot. The Source of Uncertainty will be a lot of fun to patch with maths and the 0-ctrl for sure.

I appreciate the kinds words!
The SoU has been a lot of fun so far, it really kicks things into high gear. :)

They look cool... could be pretty cheap to make a small run... not sure how much work it would be to polish the code a bit... or port something... but it all looks to be there and more or less ready to go.
Any thoughts, opinions, interests?
Currently I make dark ambient drone music in the style of Lustmord, Beyond sensory experience, Desiderii Marginis, etc... I use guitar pedals, feedback mixing, tape loops, op1, future retro777 and some selfmade electric acoustic instruments. Now I would like to dip my toe into the (Eurorack) modular world, I have a modest understanding of synth structures but am a complete newbie when it comes to modular. A few years ago I played around with an already patched up Erica Synths modular system and I loved it! Now I would like to build my own system, watched a lot of you-tube video's but got a little overwhelmed by all the choices. Can somebody help me with a good selection of modules for the following:
-Deep, dark and noisy organic evolving structures.
-Proces external sounds.
-I would love a mean spring reverb tank.
-I don't like displays and menu diving.
-I have a start budget of 2500,- (for modules) I already own a 2 x 104HP case with power supply.
It's always crazy for me to hear such full sets and arrangements on modular, as I first connect modular with techno and experimental music.
Super nice track! And the dancing Data display is always great to look at.

ha ha ! yes seeing things on DATA is great ! it also helps when shaping the sounds ! here the arrangement is mainly a "sequencer" approach ! Eloquencer really helps 😊

I noticed you have Intellijel (love them) Quad VCA, which has great additional features of boosts, individual attenuator pots, etc, WMD makes a real interesting Triple Bi-polar VCA. I don't think you need more VCAs like that. Maybe not as simple as the A-130-8v from Doepfer, but just some extra VCAs that allow you to take advantage of all the power you already have. Oh and along with those VCAs some LFOs, maybe throw an øchd in there :)

I do really like the idea of the øchd, that's a great recommendation for a module of which I was unaware, and I do most often find myself wishing for another dixie (for an lfo source) independent of the dixie itself (rather than just multed or stackcabled). If that makes sense.
Great food for thought. Appreciate the feedback!

imho this is actually a nice little rack. If you are just beginning you have all you need VCOs, VCFs, VCA, a sequencer, and some FX. You will of course grow into your own way of using them together and you'll get more stuff soon enough. I suggest as you do to get more simple VCAs and proper ADSRs. Maths is great in a pinch, but good ADSRs open up many new paths for modulation. Can't wait to hear more!

Thanks for listening and I appreciate the advice!
By more simple VCAs, do you mean non-cascading? Not sure I follow...
ADSR advice, on the other hand, understood and noted! Thank you, again! :)

There we go then, so its the BD-Z's fault then ;-)
Enjoy your spare HP, don't rush to fill every last space, this is not like filling sticker books. Resist the urge to 'complete' your rack, its never complete so just relax.
Constructive criticism and feedback always welcome, especially on technical issues!
Thanks to the community for all the help on the rack layout so that I could get to this point. Couldn't have done it without out you (well, I could've but it would've been far more painful, lol!)...:)

Which custom FW is required for the model you descibed?
-- SimonSays
The official Mutable Instruments site that still hosts manuals / docs and original firmwares has a list of alternative third party firmwares available for each module.
The alternate Marbles FW is called Resurrection, and it has the "hidden" t mode available. The firmware has a host of other upgrades and some of the stuff available is quite complex. I haven't yet dabbled into it, but it's something I'm planning to try on my Marbles.
Sadly Mutable Instruments closed shop so a clone is your best bet. Good luck with your modular journey!
I’ve not used Grids yet - I’m fairly new to the game so I’m finding my way around. They aren’t super-common so I may need to go clone on that one in the short term.
I’ve just got Marbles this weeekend and have been playing… finding some sweet spots and watching DivKid videos so I’ll get better with it. Which custom FW is required for the model you descibed?
Aaaand… Pam’s is arriving Tuesday. I love Euclidean sequencing but this Anishri/Grids model really hot the spot for me earlier today so I’ve got some fun options :)
Oh, another negative about black faceplates that really got to me was the constant specks of dust that were visible on the system. Even though I'm fully aware the same amount of dust must be on my silver modules, I can relax much better in front of my synthesizer without having to constantly brush some specks off when I'm sitting in front of a full silver system.
Luckily there's still manufacturers who are doing silver plates so I don't have to bother with some custom designs (I really wouldn't).
I think modules like MI Clouds really showcase how much can be done with multicolored LEDs on an aluminium panel, the Blend interface is nothing short of genius. IMO FR4 panels feel cheap and lazy on devices that cost as much as Natural Gate or the Nautilus. Underneath the panel it's just multicolored LEDs, and the panel just diffuses the light.
Have you looked into Mutable Grids? It's the same principle -> scanning machine learned rhythmical tables for kick, snare and hihat + individual accent outputs. There's also a similiar rhythm generator on MI Marbles red T-mode with less outputs, and also an awesome stochastic (basically ML with probabilities) model hidden away in the code base (needs modified firmware to access).
For deep euclidean sequencing with great CV-control + lots of outputs Pamela's New/Pro Workouts are GOAT material.
Hey all - does anyone know of a sequencer and/or drums module that would behave like the Mutable Anushri drum section?
It’s a kind of Euclidean-meets-pattern-templates arrangement… two rotary controls to x/y ‘scan’ a pattern map for BD, SD and HH and then pattern-oriented density controls for the BD, SD and HH that can be used together to raise and lower energy, create breaks and fills etc.
There is a similar sequencer on the OP-1 (‘Finger’). It’s very performance oriented and a lot of fun to play. I’d love something like it in my rack?
(My Anushri is a desktop box and I’d like more CV control anyway)
Interestingly I get one heck of a good Kick out of the Befaco ADSR (all sliders down)
Whereas the ALM PipSlope won't even fire a kick off!
The WMD/SSF ADSRVCA will trigger a kick in one mode with the Decay turned up only.
