Video breakdown for this system:
Serge NCOM is a sneaky contender here, can add some super fat subharmonics.

Adding an Erica Synths Black Double Bass to any of your current oscillators is an inexpensive and effective way of getting pretty low...

I would like to see the ability to have multiple racks on the same page. For example, have number of racks and then it splits and has rack one, rack two, etc. It would be nice to be able to layout a large multi-rack system on a single page.
Would also like to see an Excel-compatible spreadsheet of the modules generated from the program.
I would definitely pay for these features.
Thank you!

I had this request as well, so I could emulate my real-life multirack system. The workaround is to create one big rack and divide it into smaller racks with blank panels. It worked out really well.

In this case, the Piazza San Marco would be located in Berkeley and the Buchla 100 would be the name of a violin :)

You’re right, and I even fear that Suzanne Ciani was involved somewhere.
Believe me or not, this case is beyond us...

you have to have stock built on the shelf ready to ship to be added to the company list. i just want to be found when someone types in my company name and not be referred to as other/unknown
Ahh OK.
Do you have to get autherised or something from Admin? Or is it a pay money type deal?
Enjoy your spare HP, don't rush to fill every last space, this is not like filling sticker books. Resist the urge to 'complete' your rack, its never complete so just relax.
so you cant go to the module finder and search for my company name.
Hello,
When using the Builder's note to record ideas for a rack configuration, sometimes I lose text that is written after a URL or other ertain characters (I'm sorry I cannot recall the ones this happened with). After adding the URL or character, once I've saved the note, clicked back to the module browsing view, then went back to the note, all text after the URL or character is gone.
My workaround so far is to just put URLs at the end of the note when needed, and to try not to use any characters. Do you have any other suggestions on how to manage this?
Thank you!
For vintage sounding analog goodness I recommend the bubblesound VCOb and/or the uLFO. Really love the bass from those.
Edit: That VCO's little helper module posted above would be cool and reminded me that AM and ring mod-type modulation can create bass-heavy side-bands well. For more grit go with a classic diode/transformer ring mod, for cleaner go with IC/discreet circuits (which are more accurately termed balanced modulators but sound very similar to the classic ring mod).
how about a link to all other modules bythe same xompany or submitted by the same user
-- pointandclicksystems
I think they are already there, if i click on your profile I see all the modules you've submitted.
Plus each manufacturer is searchable.

... to generate an irregular rhythm via the “arpeggiation rate” input, while maintaining the time signature via a MIDI clock....
-- MoogulHi Moogul, thanks for sharing, explaining every step on the way. Very instructive to us non-Easel-ers.
When I first read 'irregular rhythm' in your description I thought of loosely coupled motions as in Relabi -
but no, this stays on a tight grid. Not sure how much of an improvisation this is but It does have a strong sense of form.
I like the swaying back in forth between legato and staccato sections, especially. Very nice!
Thanks for sharing.-- wiggler55550
Thanks for watching the video. Yes, "irregular" may not be the right word. I meant irregular in the sense of getting away from the steady pulse you usually get from the sequencer when it's triggered by the pulser or the keyboard. A sequence of "different note values" is probably more accurate. And you're right, not much improvisation here - all mapped out beforehand, right down to placement of the masking tape! I'm going to read that John Berndt essay now - thanks for sharing the link!
Do you have a clock divider? I will sometimes put my VCO through a 4ms QCD and then mix the two. It does thicken the sound. A module I've debated getting is the Erica Black Double Bass. You still need a VCO to feed it, but it supposedly handles the frequency division, mixing, and filtering all in one module. I don't have any hands-on experience with it though, so I can't really say how well it works.

I think it would be cool if modules could be linked to eachother, with relations such as:
- is a clone of /is cloned by
- is an imitation of/is imitated by
- is an extender for/is extended by
Etc.
Then for example, on the module page of the original Mutable Instruments Plaits, you could show:
- list of all existing clones of the module
- list of any clones that are for sale
- link to a search query in the module finder for modules with a certain relation to the Plaits. You can then further narrow down your search by say height or width.
Edit: I was thinking a bit more about this, we could also consider modules that there is a newer version of a certain module. Then there are also modules that contain functionality from other modules, i.e. the Disting EX does everything the Disting mk4 does, but it is not simply the Disting mk5. The Disting EX can also use MI Braids and Plaits engines but it is not a clone of these either. To consider whether new module versions are an instance of this 'generic' module relation, or a separate attribute type.
Thanks for this, I was looking in the list of shortcuts and it wasn't listed. Very strange. Anyway it's not exactly ideal on a tablet (need to have a bluetooth keyboard handy) but hey I guess it's 1st world problem really.
-edit- actually this doesn't seem to be an option here at all. Where's the keyboard shortcut option? I can't locate it at all :/ Using iPad / Safari here. Maybe some weird platform specific issue?
At the top of your screen, turn on Keyboard Shortcuts. Then hover over the module you would like to flip. Then press "F". Not as convenient as it used to be but it works.

Hi Sweelinck, thanks for commenting. Just imagine what Vivaldi could have done with a Buchla Music Easel!
Fine work, a piece of season...
So I thought about this other late summer atmosphere (but there, the thunderstorm rumbles in the distance):

I would appreciate some advice on choosing a low bass module. Obviously there are lots of 0-20k oscillators out there. I am looking for a "full" sounding oscillator, not necessarily quantizing but appropriately added harmonics. I have plenty of delay/ reverb available but my bassline just sounds thin. Digital or analog? Is modulation the best route? I'd like to stay under $500.
Is it possible to add somewhere information about ownership of multiple same modules?
For example there is number in "My Modules" section informing how many modules are used in actual rack...
Would it be possible to keep track of how many instances of specific module you own?
Maybe the number could be 3/2 - first number is how many modules I own and second number is how many modules I used in rack.
And just idea, is it possible to track the number of used modules acros the all racks?
At the top of your screen, turn on Keyboard Shortcuts. Then hover over the module you would like to flip. Then press "F". Not as convenient as it used to be but it works.

This is actually much better :), never checked the shortcuts, going to use them.
Thank you!
A two-voice track on the Buchla Easel, with stereo delay and a little reverb added externally. The idea was to generate an irregular rhythm via the “arpeggiation rate” input, while maintaining the time signature via a MIDI clock.
Further patch notes in the video.

I am also desperately searching for it, there is some green "Head" inactive button when you turn on "Panel selector" that seems like it could do something but it does not. I would also like to see it back.
How about a filter for manufacturers that don't use plastic in their packaging? A "green" filter if you will.

I would really appreciate if you could filter the user patches by module, like you can with the racks. E.g. Display all patches containing Intellijel Atlantis (or any given module).

Wow, I'm speechless of all your great and detailed feedback/ideas! I will dive into the details of all the (unknown) modules before I send out my orders ... maybe you are interested in my first semi-generative patch here on youtube. Thanks again!
I think this should complete my exsistence. suggestions are welcome...

I can't speak to the complaint. That said your modules are... interesting, but tbh kind of cool. Kudos for thinking outside the box.
PS - If you built an Exhaust fan with case power and a switch to turn it off and on I would probably buy one just for some peace of mind.

i can make the same module with a step down transformer so you can set it to run slower so the noise isnt too much. i dont think theyre loud but someone will. i try to keep my modules as cool as possible because performance can suffer when they get hot. *my computer modules i mean.

since i dont have a big budget enough to buy a ton of parts to make modules ready to ship, and take that risk, my company name cant be searched or interested parties see my entire catalog all in one search? this isnt right. i want my modules to be easy to find by my company name.
just wanted to throw my two cents in.
i have a broken nifty case that im basicly probably going to be forced to throw in the garbage because I cant get any responce from Cre8audio whatsoever.
I recently also bought a brand new NiftyKeyz case that I'm thinking of calling the dealer I bought it from and asking if I can return it because of this.
Hands down the absolute worst customer service I have ever had.
Haven't shared anything in a long time, but I've been working on a new project. It's kind of heading in a minimal, glitchy, clicks and cuts kind of direction (think Oval or Vladislav Delay). I always hate the multi-track stuff I record, and find myself really enjoying my lo-fi one-take excursions, so that's what this is. No fancy panning or stereo tricks going on here, but a lot of my recent recordings have been leaning that way. I'll be sure to share the full project once I complete it. Not everyone's cup of tea as usual. No worries if it's not your thing.

Made with this rack:
I'll let you all figure out which modules were used. :)
Thanks for your time.
Lots of interesting thoughts and good suggestions from @HGsynth.
But be careful, you should not ideally exceed 640mA on +12V and on -12V (per each row) in a RackBrute 6U, that is to say 80% of the 800mA available (for +12V and the same for -12V, there are four separate circuits of 800mA in two rows): and this in order to leave enough headroom for voltage peaks!
However the data sheet of the rack proposed here (in MG) indicates 743mA on the row2 (for +12V), which would be very risky...
Also, you only have 12 slots in the row2, and I see here 13 modules.

So, thinking about it a bit, I've come up with this. More experienced users please feel free to fix what's lacking/wrong!
First off, little known secret is that the 6U Rackbrute is actually 89 hp for some reason (at least, mine is). Blessed be extra hp.
I've tried to keep all of the modules you already had, except one, since I assume you already own them. I've removed Brains because it's big for what it does, and switched in a Klavis Twin Waves MKII which sounds awesome and is much smaller. All other modules are kept, but rearranged (my own preference and workflow reflected here, nothing particular about their arrangment).
Top row has Pams and the PPEXP-1 which gives you dedicated outs for regular clock, allowing you to do more interesting rhythms or voltages with the original outputs (including random, smooth random, quantized, logic, euclidean, etc...). Then your oscillators, followed by a gnarly dual/stereo filter, the Ikarie. I finish off with your envelope generator and FX.
Bottom row adds some random flavor - the highly compact Tagh to give you random voltages, the SHTH to help pick off voltages, LFOs, and a 2hp VCA, since modulating modulators is fun and you had the room to spare. Your sequncer and more LFOs follow, then the mult, 6 chainable attenuverters, and then the uO_C. I found that getting an uO_C was the primary stepping stone into generative. The shift register and quantizer are just a delight together. The other utilities presented will give you a taste of what else is out there and how to use them, so if/when you get a bigger system, you'll already have experience.
Then the Frap Tools 321 for more voltage/audio futzing, then your VCA, Mixer, and Outs. Eezy peezy.
It's not perfect, but it's a start towards generative so you can decide when you want to do with your system when you (inevitably) expand your system. Should be fun to play, at least.
Best of luck!
When did you buy yours? Are we sure there wasn't some revision of size, but nobody changed promo pics?

That's not impossible. I got mine a month and a half ago. It was a demo from Sweetwater, and honestly I was surprised to see it because I didn't know the module was out yet. Maybe Sweetwater screwed up and sent out a prototype?
Now with more dollars and less sense!
