Hi I'm experiencing a weird tension when touching the metallic plates of my modules.
I'm using a 4MS Row Power btw.

Is anybody else experiencing that?

Cheers,

Thread: Noob help

what about a dual linear vca from doepfer? It's pretty cheap, would it do the job?

Thread: Klee??

I cant finf the Klee sequencer here, am I mistaken?

Thanks so much for the info!
I'll go for it.

More info here, if you don't mind them making a stab at modular synth forums ;)

Ah no, i remember spotting quite a bit of tiptop drums as well.

VERY COOL So the drums - Analogue Systems?

Thread: Noob help

Yes, Shades works nice as mixer, no matter if for drums or timbres.
That is what i tried to say above. But attenuverters or an extra vca cannot do bad in this rack in the place of one links.

A Eurocrack Pusher: "The first time is for free" ;)

Thread: Noob help

does anyone know if that can work?

With a hacksaw as mouse pointer I guess?

While they where setting up at the venue where I work I noticed a solid amount of Analogue Systems, a Shapeshifter, a Rubicon and more Intellijel gear. It was a short glimpse but aside from the stuff you mention that's what I remember.

Modulation. 24th of May 2015. 20:00.
Time to switch on Utrecht.

Sonar Traffic and Kytopia welcome you to an evening of electronic music focused on the moment, the raw materials of sound. We will allow rhythm, harmony and melody to play along if they like.
Generated by machines under direct supervision of humans. The common computer will be a rare sight, if present at all.

We will present items, we will improvise, we will perform. Today's developments need adventure and that's what you'll get. A sound adventure.
Feel free to sit down and listen. Feel free to observe and experience.

Modulation is the key to excitement in music, this is what we present.

Tonight's program:

Ginkosynthese.

Jan Willem Hagenbeek will present and explain his sampleslicer module for eurorack modular synthesizer systems. Read more about it at https://www.ginkosynthese.com/

Allert will play a largely improvised set on his system, looking to make chords from noise, trying to get as an organic sound as possible from electronics. There may be some beats, there may not be. Let it flow.

Ben Spaander will play a set on his unique Roland System 700 modular. Probably less than 40 of those machines are still in working order today. The performance will have an interactive element, how exactly will be a surprise.

We look forward to welcome you at Modulation. Contribution will be at least 5 €, we welcome extra donations to cover our costs. All artists participate voluntarily.
Send mail to info@sonartraffic.nl with “MODULATION” in the subject for a spot on the guest list. This is an invite only event.

a fine experience with @grieve for a Mysteron

54mm
Extremely tight sync. Unreal.
It fits in my skiffs.
Works great.

that looks awesome!

Yeah! Works just fine - thanks

Strange. I never noticed that. Thanks for reporting, I think I have fixed it.

Hi there. When I go into MG, click 'My Modular', then go to 'Switch Rack' to choose the rack I want to play with - the order to me is all jumbled up. What would be really nice is that the list is presented alphabetically. It is in any case, once you've chosen a rack - but it'd be good prior to the 1st time you go in.

Thread: Noob help

Actually I had the shades there for the drums. Idk if this is how they work but, I have Grids controlling a few drum sounds, and I though I could use the Shades as sort of a final mix for them to go in?

In the advanced search stuff... aha!

Brilliant, solitud - Thanks!

[ddg]

There is a search option build type. Check if your setting says both

Right on - thanks for the pointer. However, the module that you point to does not appear during a module search for the name "mikrophonie", nor does it show up as one of the items for Music Thing Modular (the company). I suspect this is a 'private' module, and is therefore useless to me - and others.

The same is the case for the Grayscale PEG that I posted some time back. I put these things up because I need them for my rack - their existence is pointless if I can't access them!

(BTW: don't take this as an unloving gripe - I'm a huge fan of the site!)

I hope I'm not breaking protocol by adding the Microbrute (as a placeholder).
There seems to be people who have made custom cases the incorporate the Microbrute.

Hi,

I would replace 1 links with a quad attenuator. (Or use the Koma cables and put something else, like a 4HP VCA)
Shades works really nice as mixer and i wouldn't waste it for simple attenu-ation/-version.
It's dope to mix timbres or do feedbacks, due to the possibility of inverting the phase.

A Eurocrack Pusher: "The first time is for free" ;)

Thread: Noob help

Yes you can mix for example different waveforms in the Links with unity gain or attenuated and then use the optomix as VCA!

Thread: Noob help

You have two mixers with the two Mutable Instruments Links. If you use the Koma Attenuatorcable you can use this as a standardmixer....
-- loowfizzz

What about a vca? Could I send things through the links, per say, and then through the Optomix to act as a VCA? Sorry I'm a little new but thanks for your help, I'm glad people are answering

Anyone know what modules they were using - outside of Braids, Yarns, and the Cirqlon sequencers, which have been widely know? What ELSE did they use?

I just received the Mutable Instruments Links from @bj_gzp, It was quick and easy treatment, thanks. :) it was a pleasure!!

Can anybody tell me the depth of the Sync-Gen II LS?
I can't find this in the specs of various product pages, but I need to know it before I purchase one.
Thanks!!

I know there is currently no way to upload different panel gfx. You can use this one in your own racks but for the health of the database I flagged this as duplicate of https://www.modulargrid.net/e/music-thing-modular-radio-music

The graphic for this panel is incorrectly cropped when added to a rack.

Also, it would be nice to be able to select a 1U rack format for designing new racks. Ideally be able to mix and match with other formats, but I understand that would be difficult. A stand-alone 1U would be useful though.

Thread: Noob help

I think Doepfer has a 4 channel mixer/vca (not like the optomix). I had that on here before, but it was really large and I wanted more functionality as far as actual sounds go.

oh and the blank panel needs to be there, it's where a power switch will go, I didn't add one because I only wanted the price to show the actual module's price (since the switch comes with a power supply)

Thread: Noob help

woah thanks guys. So, should I maybe, replace the optomix? I'm not really sure where I could put a mixer on this rack, I like everything there

Doepfer case
+
Doepfer base
+
wheels

Hello, I'm having soon full Doepfer A-100P9 case and was thinking of adding some new modules, perhaps an A-100PB as a base. That got me into thinking how to easily move my modular around in my studio as I'm having pretty limited space. So perhaps I could pretty easily construct some sort of base with wheels and additional storage space to move my system around.

Has anyone made any sort of easily movable modular solutions?

Thanks Solitud - I did not, but I described the problem to Sweetwater, who contacted Pittsburgh, who apparently either had experienced this before, or have amazing customer service, or both - because they're sending me a new one - no questions asked, free of charge, send theirs back to them when I get the new one. Sounds like mine was faulty out of the box.

Possible power issue? Did you try to disconnect all other modules and just connect the Synth Box?

I second this. Optomix is a bit too special as a vanilla VCA ...

I thought the optomix was a mixer/vca?
-- Ashekyu

Sure, it has an auxiliary mixing function, but you may at times require mixing that does not involve the Optomix. Similarly, though Optomix can stand in for a VCA in many patches, you may want a regular VCA at times, rather than a lowpass filter optimized for signal gating.

So, brand new to Eurorack here - here is my setup. Tiptop uZeus, Mutable Braids, and Peaks, and Pittsburgh Synth Box. First time firing up after assembling into case, Mutable stuff fires up perfectly, Synth Box's LFO light blinks, then nothing at all. I assume that shouldn't be. Had a very hard time finding much in the way of documentation at the Pittsburgh Modular site, whereas Mutable's modules came with very clear instructions. I tried to fire it up a couple more times, and then stopped, fearing I was damaging the unit - or it was damaged already. I have the red stripes matching. Thanks for your patience with the newb question...
