Serge NCOM is a sneaky contender here, can add some super fat subharmonics.

Adding an Erica Synths Black Double Bass to any of your current oscillators is an inexpensive and effective way of getting pretty low...

I would like to see the ability to have multiple racks on the same page. For example, have number of racks and then it splits and has rack one, rack two, etc. It would be nice to be able to layout a large multi-rack system on a single page.

Would also like to see an Excel-compatible spreadsheet of the modules generated from the program.

I would definitely pay for these features.

I had this request as well, so I could emulate my real-life multirack system. The workaround is to create one big rack and divide it into smaller racks with blank panels. It worked out really well.

When using the Builder's note to record ideas for a rack configuration, sometimes I lose text that is written after a URL or other ertain characters (I'm sorry I cannot recall the ones this happened with). After adding the URL or character, once I've saved the note, clicked back to the module browsing view, then went back to the note, all text after the URL or character is gone.

My workaround so far is to just put URLs at the end of the note when needed, and to try not to use any characters. Do you have any other suggestions on how to manage this?

For vintage sounding analog goodness I recommend the bubblesound VCOb and/or the uLFO. Really love the bass from those.

Edit: That VCO's little helper module posted above would be cool and reminded me that AM and ring mod-type modulation can create bass-heavy side-bands well. For more grit go with a classic diode/transformer ring mod, for cleaner go with IC/discreet circuits (which are more accurately termed balanced modulators but sound very similar to the classic ring mod).

Hi Moogul, thanks for sharing, explaining every step on the way. Very instructive to us non-Easel-ers.
When I first read 'irregular rhythm' in your description I thought of loosely coupled motions as in Relabi -
but no, this stays on a tight grid. Not sure how much of an improvisation this is but It does have a strong sense of form.
I like the swaying back in forth between legato and staccato sections, especially. Very nice!

Thanks for watching the video. Yes, "irregular" may not be the right word. I meant irregular in the sense of getting away from the steady pulse you usually get from the sequencer when it's triggered by the pulser or the keyboard. A sequence of "different note values" is probably more accurate. And you're right, not much improvisation here - all mapped out beforehand, right down to placement of the masking tape! I'm going to read that John Berndt essay now - thanks for sharing the link!

Do you have a clock divider? I will sometimes put my VCO through a 4ms QCD and then mix the two. It does thicken the sound. A module I've debated getting is the Erica Black Double Bass. You still need a VCO to feed it, but it supposedly handles the frequency division, mixing, and filtering all in one module. I don't have any hands-on experience with it though, so I can't really say how well it works.

I think it would be cool if modules could be linked to eachother, with relations such as:
- is a clone of /is cloned by
- is an imitation of/is imitated by
- is an extender for/is extended by
Etc.

Then for example, on the module page of the original Mutable Instruments Plaits, you could show:
- list of all existing clones of the module
- list of any clones that are for sale
- link to a search query in the module finder for modules with a certain relation to the Plaits. You can then further narrow down your search by say height or width.

Edit: I was thinking a bit more about this, we could also consider modules that there is a newer version of a certain module. Then there are also modules that contain functionality from other modules, i.e. the Disting EX does everything the Disting mk4 does, but it is not simply the Disting mk5. The Disting EX can also use MI Braids and Plaits engines but it is not a clone of these either. To consider whether new module versions are an instance of this 'generic' module relation, or a separate attribute type.

Thanks for this, I was looking in the list of shortcuts and it wasn't listed. Very strange. Anyway it's not exactly ideal on a tablet (need to have a bluetooth keyboard handy) but hey I guess it's 1st world problem really.

-edit- actually this doesn't seem to be an option here at all. Where's the keyboard shortcut option? I can't locate it at all :/ Using iPad / Safari here. Maybe some weird platform specific issue?

New Systems Instruments Harmonic Shift Oscillator

I would appreciate some advice on choosing a low bass module. Obviously there are lots of 0-20k oscillators out there. I am looking for a "full" sounding oscillator, not necessarily quantizing but appropriately added harmonics. I have plenty of delay/ reverb available but my bassline just sounds thin. Digital or analog? Is modulation the best route? I'd like to stay under $500.

Is it possible to add somewhere information about ownership of multiple same modules?

For example there is number in "My Modules" section informing how many modules are used in actual rack...

Would it be possible to keep track of how many instances of specific module you own?
Maybe the number could be 3/2 - first number is how many modules I own and second number is how many modules I used in rack.

And just idea, is it possible to track the number of used modules acros the all racks?

I am also desperately searching for it, there is some green "Head" inactive button when you turn on "Panel selector" that seems like it could do something but it does not. I would also like to see it back.

How about a filter for manufacturers that don't use plastic in their packaging? A "green" filter if you will.

PS - If you built an Exhaust fan with case power and a switch to turn it off and on I would probably buy one just for some peace of mind.

i can make the same module with a step down transformer so you can set it to run slower so the noise isnt too much. i dont think theyre loud but someone will. i try to keep my modules as cool as possible because performance can suffer when they get hot. *my computer modules i mean.
