An interesting little module. It uses a passive infrared motion sensor(PIR) to turn off, or on, a signal path.
Probably not something you’ll use a lot but could have unique uses.
BTW, this is apparently a limited production run of 100, and I think they’re sold out.

Build was super easy, barely an inconvenience. But you can learn about PIR sensors!

disclaimer: i got one used; i also think it sucks that what they did was without the blessing of Xaoc even if it's not illegal (in spite of the conjecture above, the Batumi firmware IS open source - peep the github - and maybe a different type of CC license would have served the developers better), and at best I'm on the fence about buying new B products since they've starting behaving sketchily.

copy/paste modules does work within both browser windows. but each with its separate server side clipboards.
it makes no difference if i edit the identical rack or 2 different racks. i use firefox and chromium on linux

Haven't seen one, but since they did do a module for their Afterneath pedal, there's a chance
they may for the AR. I use pedals with my system, and there are several ways to interact.

I am not sure. But I have successfully tested it right now.
I logged in in two different browsers (Chrome and Firefox on a Mac) with the same account. I could copy/paste modules from different racks.
You hover the mouse over one module in the first browser and press c than go to the other browser, hover with the mouse over the rack (important) and press v. No CTRL, no CMD, no ALT, just the keys c and v.
Keyboard Shortcuts must be enabled, Rack Lock must be disabled.
This does not work for you?

Limited marketplace offer notifications

A new unpopular feature that nobody asked for: I've limited the number of automatic watchers you can set for offers on the marketplace.
On the module detail pages is that button Notify me if someone offers this module for sale. Standard users can sign up for 5 module notifications, while Unicorn users can set up to 2500 watchers.
The reason for this is that the mail server has been blocked several times due to excessive traffic, causing important features such as user messaging and optin registration to stop working.

I got contacted by sugarfreedaddy and he said that he will refund (but I did not get a refund yet).
I will update when I'll have something new to share.

I just soldered it onto the pins on the opposite side of the pcb to the brick.

I've long fanatasized owning a Buchla Easel but with some surplus gear, have been thinking of a filling a spare Rackbrute to achieve maybe the same thing, just without the keyboard.

What do you think? The big difference is the spectral processor but other than that, I already have the Sport Mod (pulsar), Maths (envelope generator + more), the NLC is based on the Easel's wavefolder (this could also be the 208 Timbre DIY but its not on Modgrid yet), URA (for multi-randoms on the Easel). Disting is just there because of leftover space and well, Disting's are amazing...

This would get me the instrument (with more capability, but less keyboard?) for about $3,000 less!

Have you a pic of the welded resistance on your brick? I have the bus board of Doepfer. I think the best and easiest way is to weld the resistance behind the bus board but this will fix the position of the module. Should pins 12 and 13 corrispond to the opposite side from red line of ribbon cable?

No, it's just on the power supply for the brick.

Numbering of pins on the brick, as it sits moounted in the module, start at 1 at the top.
Last two pins at the bottom are 12 & 13.

I use a ceramic 10u which is perfect. If you have an electrolytic check voltages for orientation.
(I forget, but if you get stuck I'll check)

as far as I can work out, it's the brick that generates the noise, and this gets out into the analog circuitry of the module.

When I created my video Murmuration, I thought: "This patch would totally work as a generative ambient track." So I decided to try it out. I changed a few things in the arrangement, used a lot of modulation, used a different reverb and slowed it down a lot. I really liked the result so I decided to record it and post it on my channel. i purchased a module from @sugarfreedaddy about a month ago.

several days after payment he sent a message, telling me he had an accident and will ship the module with some delay.
Several weeks later no news.

i asked for a refund. no reply in several weeks.

he still has several ads online. I advise everyone to stay away for now...

Just a note on this: the Arbhar has a Stereo Input mode. Hold Shift + Capture and Turn the Intensity pot to the right for Stereo Input (In = L, Onset = R) : )

System XZ (tentative name) has 2 primary purposes:
1) a beefed up Paraphonic Synth inspired by Roland SH-101
2) a live audio & sampler mangler intended for ambient drone synthesis

Ideas for Modifying System:
1) SYSTEM FOCUS:
More generative focused system with organic randomizers such as adding 10HP Wogglebug...but remove what? And Pam's Workout takes on Random pretty well, but not "organic" to program or mod. Additionally, the Instruo Scion definitely has my attention with using biometrics for randomization in CV, but I'm curious if it's more gimicky and a tax on 14HP rather than providing completely refreshing results.

2) FILTERS:
Modify the Filter Section and add Shakmat Stereo Filter (Dual Dagger). Intent would be to filter stereo signals and more flexible with both primary purporses of System XZ; however, DXG may currently fit this void well enough. To replace WMD/SSF Pole Zero Filter means losing MOSFET Saturation which is distinctly cool. Replacing Filter from Doepfer A-103 means losing classic 303 Bass Sound...also distinctly cool. ...always opportunity cost when sticking to a budget/case size.

3) MONO vs PARA vs POLY in Eurorack:
Paraphonic synth seems like the sweet spot. I can't justify replacing 16HP for Doepfer Polyphonic Modules such as A-105-4 Quad Poly SSI VCF & the A-135-2 Quad VCA / Mixer.
Especially for Paraphonic synthesis, 2 mono filters are more useful to me than 1 stereo filter.

4) RING MOD:
DivKid Stereo Strip & MN Moddemix both take on Ring Modulation...waste of 6HP or is it worth keeping the Moddemix for more versatility in Ring Mod? I'd argue that Stereo Strip & Moddemix do different types of Ring Mod via Mono in Moddemix & stereo Ring Mod in the Stereo Strip.

5) SAMPLER:
It was a very tough choice between Nebulae V2 & the Make Noise Morphagene, but in the end the Nebulae V2. I've tried the Instruo Lubadh in a past case before, & I didn't vibe with it well. And maybe I faulted, but the Instruo Arbhar is majorly weakened for only having Mono Input, so I skipped. After a week with the Nebulae V2 module, the audio quality is excellent & loading of alternate instruments is very easy. The playfullness of the granular is fun, but not as in depth as a granular processor. It's a middle ground between looper & granular processor, which is perfect. Plus the Nebulae V2 is a DSP Platform, so it's extremely versatile in 2024 with many alternate instruments. That being said I do have an issue with some .Wav files not being properly added to the USB drive, so I emailed Qu-Bit...tbd.
Adding the Ritual Electronics Guillotine & Stereo Stereo Strip may add a foundation for running electric Guitar through the case.

Looks pretty good to me. Maybe throw a mult in the 2hp spot (or get a couple of those 0hp splitter type things that are outside the rack).

I don't have my heart set on the Cizzle, maybe if I replaced it with a different synth voice or some smaller footprint modules (Bastl? the Waver I think is an essential after looking at it) that'd work too

The amplitude of Valmorification will follow the incoming gate/trigger level. You could use the TM to modulate gate levels going into Valmorification (and further down the patch a filter, vca or anything...). Mix it with some random with the A * B + C etc ect... I'd add another utility mixer like the Acid Rain Junction to this setup.

I would say Noise Engineering, Doepfer and Intellijel since they have a clean approach with lots of creative modulation options and easy to learn functions and great support. As much as I love Make Noise, the challenge with Make Noise is their quirky labels and functions that do multiple things at once.

A 8 step sequencer from Synthrotek. Has some interesting output routing, and works reasonably well.
It is a wide beast, if you’re tight on rack space you may want to get a narrower one, even if it’s less capable.
Did have some missing parts again, and this time (a week and a half after I emailed) I haven’t heard back from them.
Assembly is straightforward, and it is a fine unit.
Build

Yes as wishbonebrewery wrote, try to use is as a dynamic modulation source for filters/envelopes/VCAs. You can also try to control the Turing Machine via CV by using an LFO or better yet one of the sloths. Controling the Turing Machine via CV is not easy IMHO but when you get it right it's a lot of fun.

TM -> S/H can also be fun.

After so much actual music, I feel the need to be in a noise project.
This was a collab I did with another michigan local, Bridal Creeper.
Hes a harsh noise guy and basically demolished my ambient modular tracks for this project.
But also, my video eurorack made the video loop. A Chroma Cauldron Mainbow running through a Kam Klomp dirty mixer.

My best Answer to this is Grone 2 by Maneco Labs. It always just leaves this subtle texture in the background. None of the CV ins and outs seem to act predictably. It always leaves me with the eary background vibe I want though.

Second to that, I would say Moskwa 2 if it counts as opinionated. Such a fun way to make sequences, and havent seen much else like it.

Normally, having more than one oscillator in a small case is a but much, but for drones it's good to have an oscillator for FM usage or just running them together and getting contrasts from them. In a drone synth, at least two oscillators that can interact with one another will go a long way.

A filter might be a good addition as well. Make sure it's ergonomic for you.

There are a variety of good dedicated drone modules/synths, ranging from the Grendel Drone Commander 2 to the Eowaves Weather Drones to something standalone like the Stylophone GS-2. Even a synth not necessarily sold as a drone synth like a Moog Mavis (which can be both racked or kept in its own case) or other all-in-one device can be the basis of a great drone setup, and they have the benefit of combining a bunch of obvious tools in a smaller form factor so you can focus the rest of your case on more personal choices.

Overall, a "drone synth" is one of those things that really comes down to what you want. Can you think of examples of the sorts of sounds you have in mind? Drones can take many forms.

Hello, looking for some patch ideas for the Turing Machine based on my setup. I can't seem to get anything very dynamic with it. I have followed some things I have seen online, but most patch ideas seem to involve very specific modules. I have tried to keep my rack as generic as possible. Would love any advice based on my weirdly random setup.

One thing I would appreciate:

In pedalmode when yo create a pedalboard-rack - the possibility to add own created eurorack-racks as part of the pedalboard.

Like adding a small 60 or 84 hp 3u case as part of a hybrid live setup with pedals and synths.

It would be great to have categories added for Spectral and Granular to the Function drop-down
