I was there even for a quick moment on location in their shop last week, even then there was nothing special on offer. Now indeed they have a few Erica Synth modules on offer, great, I will check it out :-)

Music Store in Cologne (Köln) is my local dealer where I once and a while test stuff, a bit more than a half hour drive for me, so that's fine :-)

Those are AUX inputs. A different-colored (black, here) collar around a jack is normally an output; jacks without that are generally inputs. Except here, for some weird reason. Annoying.

I was also trying to find some standard in this however there isn't really. I came across a few modules (different brands but I forgot which were the clear examples here, might be indeed Intellijel is one of them) that are just a contradiction to what we are trying to find here ;-)

And then there are those brands that just have one background front panel colour, so they don't either way, some obvious examples are Doepfer, Erica Synths, etcetera.

So, for myself, I would rather not rely on it. Just my 2 cents. Kind regards, Garfield.

Please keep in mind though that this is Eurorack, it is not a must to do it like this, this is just one of the zillion possibilities that are possible with Eurorack setups. It was in the beginning my first choice of sequencer but since they took I don't know... almost 2 years to release it, I went for the Vector from Five12, which I never regretted by the way.

By the way, please don't get angry or disappointed if I wouldn't reply any more to all your jams, that's not because I don't like your jams, it's the opposite, I really do like them however I have decided to soon reduce my time on modulargrid.net in the next few days to have more time for myself to experiment more with my modular system and try to make a few more jams. I have realised that over the last two-and-a-half-years that I have been (very) active here on this forum that I started to have less time left for myself and my modular system. I loved to motivate you and many others by my comments, at least I hoped my posts motivated you and I am sure that without my further help you will be doing great! :-) Though I will going to be less active here, I still will regularly look at the posts and here and there perhaps still create a new post or reply to a post however just not as intensive as I have done in the recent past. Nice way from getting from that crackle sound to an almost kind of Tangerine Dream sound that yet turns into a modern piece of electronic music. Great transitions and beautifully done, one of your master pieces I believe! The rhythm around 4:00 is just great, the percussions there and the same for the drum that kicks in just before 5 minutes, it all just fits very well together, wow!

He, he, what started nice and quietly became pretty fast rhythmic and fun. Nice and daring but successful I feel, you stopped about half way the percussion, waited a bit and continued yet with another rhythm, it becomes a bit of jazzy-ambient, I like that approach and wouldn't mind to hear more of such a like :-)

• So you did check the module alone in a rack without all the other modules and it still doesn't work?
• Not very likely but if your rack is pretty full with modules you might have reached the maximum power consumption, in that case pull out a few power hungry modules and try again
• You did check the power cable connections on both sides (at the PCB of the module and at the bus board of your rack)? Careful please, it looks like the Plonk doesn't have a boxed pin header so make sure indeed the -12 V (red line) is connect to the PCB where also that white line has been indicated and -12 V has been written. Same goes for the bus board connection
• If that all still doesn't work, try to use a 10-pole power cable from one of your modules you are 100% sure it works and check again
• Now test the other way around, take one of the modules you are 100% sure of that it works, test that module, remember at which bus board header you connected it, does this module indeed work well? It should, right? Okay now remember to take this same bus board header again and now connect your troubled-Plonk module exactly at that bus header, does it work now?
• Still not? Did you try to install the latest firmware? (Again? Perhaps previously went something wrong?)
• Still not? Well there is a change that you got a dead-on-arrival module, contact Intellijel, perhaps they have a few more ideas of troubleshooting before sending the module back to your dealer

I am glad that you like the Iridium so much :-) The price here has gone up quite a bit for the Iridium... I need to wait for a special offer, though some shops do have some Black Friday offers, looks like the music industry here doesn't really seriously follow up on that, hence no real interesting offers...

This is great, I even didn't realise a thing like ALM - Super Coupe existed. So this is a great eye-opener for me, getting to know the ALM modules. A few modules I had heard of it before, obviously however this video is a great demo beside seeing the Super Coupe rack also getting in "touch" with other modules from ALM.

You are taking it easy and slowly here, yet enough variation to leave the listener left in unbelief... how can a track being relaxed and ambient like this contain yet so much interesting, tense & beautiful, minimal but yet fantastic, variation?! This is an art on its own.

For example that sound that kicks in at 16:14, beautifully done and just one of the tons of examples I could pull up here, wow :-)

Did I just wrote now: "You are taking it easy?" Hell, you didn't! This, at least to me, doesn't sound like easy at all, this is sound engineering at its perfection! Please do let me know if you are going to publish this and more of the likes on CD, preferable SACD or LP, this is a must have!

The main reason for me to choose the Veils over the VnIcursal would be the user interface. The Veils has, in my opinion, a better user interface, it looks calmer and I am sure with the Veils one would feel more comfortable in usage rather than the VnIcursal, when fully patched, having 18 cables going to a small 8 HP panel with 6 tiny potentiometers above those 18 cables... mwaaahhh.... Veils is the winner here for me.

Though I have to admit those 8 small potentiometers on the Veils is of a similar problem, at least the sliders make this module a bit more comfy to use though.

Now if you want a serious comfortable module to use, then you might want to look at the dual VCA called Waldorf - DVCA1 (look at my below website for a downloadable report in PDF format about the DVCA1), it's on offer right now and is one of the best (if not the best) VCAs I have come across so far. But... there is always a but... it is 20 HP wide, that's the downside of it; if HP usage is an issue that is.

Yes, I would do what Farkas suggests. I got a bit carried away here in this one:

You can add as many VCOs as you want in the above example, hence VCO-n, where by n is for example 4 if you want to add up till four VCOs. But the number N can be anything, up to you. Same then for the EGs.

To make it a bit more spicy you could add for each VCO its own filter (filter-1 up till filter-n) and at the end of the CVilization another filter, or if that's a bit too much, just that last filter-n+1.

If your LFOs aren't clockable then don't worry, just leave out those patches then. Have fun and kind regards, Garfield.

I forgot to tell you that I managed to get one of the last Doepfer - A-176 manual CV source modules that were left for sales. It's a great module, I use it for example to test multiples and indeed to create a steady offset or a steady input signal. It's good to know that EMW has something like this as well since Doepfer doesn't sell it any longer... I might want that as a second module, these simple but oh-so useful utility modules are, what makes Eurorack so great :-)

The Doepfer A-138m Matrix mixer can be used in stereo operation too. Just use for example inputs 1 & 3 as your left inputs and inputs 2 & 4 as your right channel inputs. Then with the 16 knobs you can do panning. You can create either two times a stereo output, or what I usually do, just one stereo output, meaning output channel 1 is my left channel out and output channel 2 is my right channel out, those two outputs then to any Audio Interface module to output it to an external mixer. Seems to work quite well.

Or you can use it as 4 mono inputs and one stereo output (or two stereo outputs) or you could even do one stereo input (for example input channels 1 & 2) and two mono inputs (channels 3 & 4 in this example) and again one (or two) stereo output(s).

So... I don't see the non-stereo issue, for me this is stereo enough :-) One even could extend it to a quad output (instead of one or two stereo outputs) :-) Kind regards, Garfield.

Yeah... that's what I am thinking or rather hoping as well. But knowing the 2600, not being the purest Eurorack thingy in the world, I know it was never designed for that because at that time Eurorack didn't exist yet, still I wonder if there would be "any surprises" from those 2500 modules to be expected...

For example if the 2500 has the same issue as the 2600 with opening the VCA or filter fully because it expects a signal up till 15 V instead of Eurorack till 10 V... then we might have an issue. So I wonder if A) the 2500 has this issue as well and B) if Beh... I mean the brand we not supposed to speak of ;-) was clever enough to update those 2500 modules to a 100% Eurorack standard... mwah... not so sure... hence my questioning :-)

Yes, the Intellijel Audio I/O is a great audio interface module for audio input and audio output, however it's not meant for MIDI to CV or CV to MIDI.

I agree with Lugia and Sacguy71 that those MIDI modules from Doepfer (the A-190-x series) are pretty disappointing, the only modules so far from Doepfer that I don't like, all the other modules from Doepfer is great stuff, especially if you look at the price-performance ratio.
