Every analog filter has its own voice; warm, sharp, liquid, or aggressive. But that character is usually fixed at the design stage, leaving the musician with limited control over how the filter behaves.
Faun breaks this limitation with a unique design that allows continuous slopes across all four filter types. With a single knob, you decide exactly how the curve of the filter should be.
A dedicated Timbre circuit introduces ripple in the passband (like adding a comb filter) without changing type or slope. This moves Faun between smooth, vocal or liquid, depending on how you patch and play it. While using strong Timbre settings, internal gain increases; adding saturation to the tone.
Faun offers two input paths: a unity-gain input optimized for signals up to +-5V, and a variable gain input with attenuator for feedback patching, level matching, or adjusting its drive. This makes it easy to keep things clean, or push into saturated textures when the sound calls for extra energy.
With four simultaneous outputs (lowpass, highpass, bandpass, and notch types), Faun excels as a clean and precise filter, ideal for buttery sweeps, liquid textures, and dreamlike arpeggios. However when pushed through the variable gain input and higher Timbre settings, it can reveal bold acid lines and a touch of grit. Ideal when you want to add more color!
