Catalinbread Formula 55 is a great overdrive or fantastic as an always on tone in front of a cleaner amp. It emulates the sound of a 5e3 tweed deluxe preamp section, and as a guy who plays a 5e3 as his regular amp, I think it does a pretty darn good job of it. I generally used this when playing out with bigger cleaner amps as an always on pedal to get my tone. This one has been used on stage but is in excellent shape with some very minor scratches on the backside. It comes in the original box.From the manufacturer: "The Formula No. 55 is a Foundation Overdrive that reproduces, in exact detail, the preamp section of the classic Fender™ tweed 5E3 Deluxe using an all-discrete JFET-based signal path. The Volume and Tone controls replicate, part for part, the circuitry of the 5E3, giving you authentic tweed amp response. The output section is designed to give you punch and volume with a low output impedance to drive your amp perfectly. Set the Hi-Lo button to "Lo" for the cleaner response of a vintage tweed. "Hi" is like hot rodding your amp by swapping in higher gain tubes.
