Providence PEC-2 Routing System Programmable Effects Controler in Used Condition Providence's PEC-2 is the most popular programmable switcher in the market. The PEC-2 is a programmable effects controler that allows up to 8 effect loops to be used with 1 to 5 loops connected in series and 6 to 8 loops connected separately. SEND output is muted when loops are off to prevent noise and oscillation. Each loop uses an S.C.T. circuit for improved reliability and higher sound quality. Can be used as latch control terminals for amp channel switching, etc. The SEND jack can be used as N.C. and the OUT jack as N.O. latch control terminals. Each loop is completely separated including ground, solving problems caused by ground loops even when connected to multiple devices as control terminals. Various connection methods are possible. The IN and OUT jacks of the separate loops can be connected to expand to a maximum of 8 effect loops. Two separate loops can also be used to function as a stereo loop. MIDI IN and OUT/THRU jacks are provided for sending and receiving to and from MIDI equipment. Each switch can be freely set to a CCN, allowing for a variety of system configurations. When two PEC-2s are used in link mode, both MIDI IN and MIDI OUT/THRU connectors can be used. Mute circuits are placed just before OUT 1 and 2, allowing operation regardless of the status of the recalled program. Up to 84 programs (7 programs x 12 banks) can be stored in memory, and a memory protect function is provided. Link mode: Two PEC-2 units can be connected and operated as an effects controller with up to 16 loops. In DIRECT mode, each loop operates independently. Remote mode: One can be placed on stage and the other on an offstage position, and either can act as a remote controller. The PEC-2 can be set as master or slave, and the settings of the PEC-2 set as master are recalled. Buffer section Uses the proven buffer amplifier used in many Providence custom products. A 15 VDC power supply is used to ensure sufficient dynamic range. By passing through the buffer circuit, weak signals from guitars and basses are converted into strong, non-degradable signals. Dedicated IN/OUT jacks are provided for the buffer circuit to accommodate effectors such as FUZZ that change the way effects are applied when connected after passing through the buffer. The input signal is always output from the tuner out, so you can tune while playing. The tuner out circuit is separated from the main signal line by the buffer circuit, so that if the cable to the tuner shorts out or the tuner breaks, the effect on the main signal line is minimized. An adapter with twice the required power supply capacity is used to ensure stable operation even when the power supply voltage drops to 80 VAC. In addition, the heat generated by the adapter is suppressed so that it can be used safely even in locations with relatively high ambient temperatures.
