it would be great to have a "cancel” (X) in Manufacturer search box (just like in the Name search box) instead of having to scroll all the way back to the top. Or am I missing some shortcut?

When the manufacturer dropdown is focused, you can simply press ‘-’ on your keyboard to reset the selection. You can also type any other letter to jump to a manufacturer. This is a standard browser feature that should work on other websites as well.
