Tactile signal router
TOUCH BAY by SYNTHFOX is a performance-oriented tactile signal router. It includes the module (shown in the panel picture) and a special handle that connects to it via a ribbon cable - here it is in this photo. The handle is a PCB fit into a machined piece of plywood, and it's meant to sit outside the rack and be a performance tool that you can pick up and play without tangling your hands in the wiring of the patched-up system.
The module has 4 inputs labelled with letters (A, B, C, D) and 4 outputs labelled with numbers (1, 2, 3, 4). Each output has a dedicated sensitivity setting. These letters and digits directly correspond to the copper pads on the tactile handle. Pads A, B, C and D have the signals from the inputs, and pads 1, 2, 3 and 4 are connected to the respecitve output amplifiers. Just touch an input pad and an output pad to route! You can touch more than one inputs to mix signals, or more than one outputs to send signals to multiple destinations. By applying different pressure and covering different surface areas, different proportions of signals are achieved. This works really well with CV routing or feedback paths!
Watch an overview here - it's in russian, but has english subtitles.
this module is sold out for now, but eventually i will restock it
