Dual Diode Based Low Pass Gate

The Multiple Feedback Low Pass Gate is a unique variation on classic circuit. The MFB LPG is a dual low pass gate, where each channel features a two-pole low pass filter coupled with a voltage controlled amplifier in a single gain stage. Rather than using Vactrols, this low pass gate utilizes diodes to simultaneously vary the gain and cutoff frequency of the low pass gate’s core. These diodes respond incredibly fast to incoming CV and also add subtle soft clipping to the input signal, which is then tamed by the low pass filter, making this module a great choice for adding character and color to any signal. Internal normalizations tie the two low pass gates together, allowing them to be used in series to create a four pole low pass gate with a hyper exponential VCA response. The two channels can also be used in tandem to create a voltage controlled effects send or to provide voltage controlled velocity over the final output.

The Multiple Feedback Low Pass Gate is a part of a limited release series. Each module was assembled and thoroughly tested by hand in New York City. Each module utilizes high quality hand matched film capacitors in the audio path. The module’s two channels are matched for duophonic and stereo applications.
