The Shaka-8 is a Voltage-Controlled Stereo Matrix Mixer for audio with a high quality stereo signal path. While it is similar in function to other Stereo Matrix Mixers, the Shaka system uses high quality audio VCAs to enable voltage control over each matrix patch point, i.e. the send level of each L/R pair of inputs to each L/R pair of outputs. Additional outputs may be added to a Shaka-8 module by chaining multiple Shaka-4 Stereo Matrix Expanders via the rear connectors.
The Shaka matrix channels are ideal for creating effects loops and routing multiple signals into filters, wavefolders, and other sound modifiers. Each channel has an exponential response and a gain range of -100dB to Unity via the Initial knobs, with up to +20dB gain possible with CV applied.
