The Time Circuits 1U Module from Daniel Kubica of Audio Parasites in Australia is a conversation starter for sure!
This is a walk down Memory Lane for many of us!
For those not familiar with what the Time Circuits is:
In the Back to the Future franchise, the Time Circuits are the primary user interface used to control and monitor the destination, present, and departure times of the DeLorean time machine.
System OverviewThe interface was built by Doc Brown and is prominently mounted in the center console of the car. It consists of three stacked, color-coded display lines featuring alphanumeric LED readouts:
Destination Time (Red): The target date and time where the driver intends to travel.
Present Time (Green): The exact real-time current date and location in the timeline.
Last Time Departed (Yellow): The previous chronological point from which the time machine just jumped.
Data Format: Each row is formatted uniformly to ensure precise temporal navigation:
Month: A 3-letter abbreviation (e.g., OCT, NOV).
Day & Year: 2-digit calendar day and a 4-digit year.
Hour & Minute: Handled in a standard 12-hour or 24-hour setup, alongside AM/PM indicator lights.
OperationTo execute a jump, the operator must switch the time circuits "ON" via a heavy toggle switch. A destination is entered using a modified numeric keypad mounted just below the displays. Once the coordinates are locked, accelerating the vehicle to 88 miles per hour routes the required 1.21 gigawatts of electricity into the flux capacitor, initiating the displacement through time.
Iconic Display Settings: The franchise features several memorable baseline dates shown on the display panels:
November 12, 1955: The destination Doc Brown originally sets to demonstrate the device, noting it as the day he discovered time travel.
October 26, 1985: The starting "Present Time" at the twin pines mall testing site.
October 21, 2015: The primary future destination targeted during Back to the Future Part II.
