analog bass drum module
This is the extended and improved version of Thomas Henry’s Bass++, an analog bass drum module for eurorack (3U 6HP). It has been designed by Juanito Ohm of MODULAR FOR THE MASSES who has kindly shared the production files. It has a massive sound and the new features are (descriptions partly quoted from Juanito Ohm’s youtube channel):
PITCH and CV control improvements “allowing for much better control of the pitch, especially in the lower frequencies where kick drums usually do their kicking.”
WAVE SHAPING, that allows to dial in a waveform from the original trinagle shape over to classic sine (808-style) towards a more aggressive clipping and wave-folding square-ish shape for more industrial sounds.
SWEEP PITCH “envelope is independent of the decay envelope now, with two controls, one for “height” of the pitch sweep envelope and one for the decay of the pitch sweep. You can get that stabby punch right at the attack of your bass drum like a 909, or a gentle sag like an 808. The sweep pitch is injected into the linear part of the CV management circuitry, so the pitch sweep is more drastic than otherwise.”
