Divided into two identical sections, Smear passes a stereo signal through a series of 98 all pass filters. While one of these building blocks of reverb algorithms and other effects offers a very subtly delayed and unfiltered copy of the original input, stacking a whopping 98 of these filters allows for captivating effects as frequencies of your sound are delayed in different amounts.For each side of the module, you have controls for the frequency, resonance, and stages, each of which features a corresponding CV input for external control. At the center of the module is also a feedback control, which can dramatically alter the resonance of Smear's many filters to create unique physical modelling sounds and more. Process a stereo signal or split Smear into dual mono mode with the Split button, allowing each side of Smear to control channels independently.
