It utilizes a mix of six analog square-wave oscillators processed by bandpass filters to achieve its iconic metallic sound. SPECS: Size: 8HP width; 14mm (0.55") depth. Power Usage: +12V/30mA, -12V/25mA. Sound Engine: All-analog, 6-oscillator design with independent open and closed hi-hat circuits. I/O: Two sets of Gate and Accent inputs (1/8"); separate outputs for Open and Closed hats; additional BandPass output. Controls: Level and Accent knobs for both voices; Decay control for the Open hat; Filter Q (resonance) knob for metallic character. Voltage-Controlled Resonance (VC-Q): Unlike the original drum machine, this module includes a voltage-controlled resonance circuit. At minimum, it sounds like a stock 808; at maximum, it can generate self-oscillation and analog "crushed" tones. Internal Choke Switch: By default, the closed and open hats "choke" each other for tight rhythms, but this can be disabled via an internal switch for overlapping sounds. High-Powered Gain Stage: Enhanced output stages allow for built-in overdrive and harmonic saturation when Level and Accent are turned up. Dual Pulse-Shaper: Each input includes a pulse-shaping circuit that ensures stable triggering from various pulse sources, such as clock dividers or sequencers.
