Proteus loops a generated melody, then probabilistically decides to abandon it and create a new one based on the Patience parameter. The result sits in a useful middle ground between a locked sequence and fully random generation - structured enough to be musical, unpredictable enough to stay interesting.Controls cover sequence length (2 to 32 steps), complexity, density, slew probability, octave transposition probability, note mutation, and pattern rotation.
