Look up onClassic MI physical modeling module--the forerunner to Rings, and in many ways never equaled. The algorithm mimics the effects of interacting with a resonant physical object like a string, a tube, or a percussion surface. The left side is a series of "exciter" sound sources, in three groups roughly equivalent to bows, air, and mallets. These can be mixed in any combination, so you can bow, blow, and strike your object all at the same time, if you want! The right side is the resonator section; the knobs here adjust the properties of your resonating object--you can make it sound glassy, metallic, woody, etc. There's also a basic but nice reverb. With modulation, you can get everything from synth sounds to cellos to toms to ??? And yes, it's big--but for a reason: Mutable modules have incredible ergonomics.Light rash around the screw holes; otherwise, it's in great condition and functions perfectly. I've debated selling this for a long time, but I just don't have a need for it in my current setup, and I want it to be used for music, not sitting in storage.
