The Doepfer A-102 is a diode-based voltage controlled filter known for its unconventional resonance behaviour. Unlike more typical designs, resonance and cutoff frequency interact closely, producing aggressive, unstable responses and distinctive tonal movement as the filter is driven.
The module offers manual frequency control, an input level control, and resonance that can be pushed into self-oscillation. Three CV inputs allow external modulation, with one input featuring an attenuator for finer control. The result is a characterful filter well suited to experimental patches, percussive sounds, and animated modulation rather than clean, predictable filtering.
