About the Unicorn Account

Description

The Forbidden Planet is a multimode filter based on the Steiner-Parker design. It features separate inputs for high-pass, band-pass and low-pass characteristics. The module’s sound is crisp and clean. In high-pass mode, the Forbidden Planet excels at removing rumbling from kicks and basses without sacrificing punch. Using the band-pass characteristic, you can isolate small pieces of a sound. The low-pass is perfectly suited for creating classic synthesizer sounds. The resonance can be used for subtle sharpening of signals. Alternatively, turn the potentiometer completely counterclockwise and enjoy beefy self-oscillation.The Forbidden Planet is an analog multimode circuit with an edge steepness of -12 dB per octave. It comes equipped with individual inputs for high-pass, band-pass and low-pass. Thus, the three filter characteristics can be combined as desired. For cutoff and resonance adjustments, there are two potentiometers. In addition, two frequency CV inputs were implemented. One of them features an attenuator. Another knob makes it possible to alter the volume at the module’s output. The module has some rack rush and cosmetically looks used but otherwise functions very well
