Description

Single-owner, Mutable Instruments genuine "Stages" Eurorack Module in excellent condition.Condition: in good light, from 12 inches or closer, you can see tiny dings in the faceplate, mostly around the cable jacks. This module has only had a single owner, but I've actually used it - since it's so good in any rack I've ever put together. From more than 12 inches away, or in anything other than direct light, the module looks absolutely MINT from every angle. And of course, functionality is flawless.----Stages is my single-most-favorite Eurorack module out of hundreds that I've used, but I have four (4x) of them in my collection. That's unnecessary.Mutable Instruments has shut down production for all time, which means these beautiful originals are totally discontinued and will only continue to appreciate in value over time. This module is just so useful and cool in every context and rack. Easily one of Mutable's finest designs - and I have every module they produced. From LFOs to Sequencing, Envelope Generation to Sample & Hold, it is hard to picture a Eurorack module that finds more uses in more patches than this one. CV control over exactly what you want as a modular synthesist, when you want it. Damn, this module just seems more and more genius every time I think about it.And that's just with the stock firmware (as this will ship to you). Don't even get me started on the optional Qiemem firmware upgrade, which turns this digital module into a jawdropping, absurdly-powerful monster (but be prepared to keep reference manuals handy if you go this route - I still prefer the elegant simplicity of the original firmware.)You can even link multiple modules together to create "Super-Stages" (up to six of them!) which is part of the reason I have so many.Oh - did I mention it's also got an Easter Egg as one of the most gorgeous Harmonic Oscillators you've ever heard? There's no module in my collection that justifies itself as much as Stages. Every patch, every rack, worth its weight in gold. People are going to hold on to them. And they're a piece of history. You won't find many originals in this condition, ever again. Kinda jealous of whoever gets to keep this one. Will ship ASAP with original packaging in good condition, power cable, Stages-to-Stages link cable, four Befaco knurlie screws, and original Mutable Instruments toy & printed-paper manual.Selling because I need to downsize after a big move and like I said, I have four of these modules right now. Enjoy this module as I trim down my modular collection!--- Please let me know if you have any questions~! ---Original Manufacturer Description:The modulation construction setASR envelope, complex 6-stage envelope, LFO, 4-step sequence or switched LFO: Stages can be any kind of modulation. Not because all these behaviors have been pre-programmed in the module, but because it allows you to describe your own modulations in terms of basic operations: ramp from one voltage to another, hold a voltage at a set level, wait for a trigger and slew. With or without looping.Whether you need one complex envelope, or several simpler modulations, Stages reconfigures itself according to which of its gate inputs are patched. There is always a role for it in your patch. That's itReally, there isn't more to the story.Self-generating chiptunes? Very weird LFO shapes? Random gate delay? Stages probably does strange and wonderful things when patched in a certain way.
