Similar to a wavefolder, the Horstronic Waveslicer takes a simple waveform such as a sine wave, and adds complexity — i.e. additive synthesis.Unlike a wavefolder, the Waveslicer uses a comparator with a variable threshold to create a square wave of a certain width, along with a variable offset, and sums it with the input wave, which effectively “slices” the original wave and then offsets the sliced portion by some amount. This module can be used as two individual slicer channels, or as a double-action slicer on a single input. All the parameters are controllable via CV.I built this module -- I have been building Eurorack modules for 6 years, both other people's and my own designs. At this point I have built well over 200 modules. I know what I'm doing. This module is in great shape, in fully working order, and has always been in my air conditioned, non-smoking studio.
