A dual output bytebeat exploration module with FX
Ogham is a dual bytebeat exploration module. It has a unique set of bytebeat functions that were "discovered" using genetic algorithms to match different criteria, including melodic, rhythmic or textural variation. The playback of the bytebeat is under full CV control, with control over clock speed, V/Oct pitch, sync and 2 independent timbre controls, A and B. A Tone control allows more variation on the timbre, with a DJ filter inspired UI, with low pass and a wave folder on the CCW side, and a resonant band pass with bit reduction on the CW side. A 3 stage FX pipeline with chorus, flanger and phaser (2 variants on each) is available, with control over stage parameters. The second bytebeat function can bypass FX and CV control (giving independent control over the first), to enable the second to be used as a clock or envelope source. Useful for self patching. The module is based on the Daisy Seed with a simple firmware update route via USB.
This module is currently in prototype stage. We plan to release this as open source.
