A polyphonic oscillator built around fractal synthesis
Fractaos explores a different way of bringing a polyphonic oscillator to life.
Instead of starting from classic waveforms, it is built around fractals: shapes whose structure repeats at different scales, with something complex, moving, and almost organic about them. That is the principle Fractaos turns into sound.
The module creates a dialogue between a main fractal shape and a fractal primitive that can modulate it, bend it, and make it drift. Everything is calculated in real time across 8 oscillators, producing a sound material that is dense, sometimes unstable, but always playable (well, almost...).
Each curve can be selected and shaped through the control of chaos and calculation depth. From there, you can work on the relationship between the two forms through morphing, detune, chords (in Drone mode), texture, formant extraction, resonant filtering, simplified FM modulation, LFO behavior, envelope control, or offsets applied to the main parameters.
Fractaos offers a 4-voice polyphonic mode through both MIDI and CV, as well as a Drone mode where all 8 oscillators remain active continuously. A polyphonic ADSR envelope with a curve function makes it usable as a complete voice, and all settings can be stored in the internal presets.
With 8 bipolar CV inputs, 4 Trigger inputs, 4 one-volt-per-octave inputs, and MIDI support with velocity and aftertouch, Fractaos was designed as a true instrument: able to produce both precise tones and more experimental textures.
These merchants probably sell this module. Huh?
