A truly flexible Stereo Distortion effect module

However, this module isn’t just about aggression — it can also be surprisingly subtle and musical, as the features below reveal:

This module is a character-rich stereo (or you could say dual-channel) distortion unit built around diode clipping, extended with precise control over asymmetry and spectral shaping. Designed for Eurorack systems, it transforms incoming signals into anything from subtle harmonic enhancement to aggressive, high-gain saturation.

Asymmetry control, allowing you to continuously shift the balance between symmetrical and asymmetrical waveform clipping. This adjustments introduce even-order harmonics presence and warmth ideal for sound design. At the same time, asymmetric clipping occurs in different phases on the right and left channels which widens the stereo image of the output signal.

A key feature of the module is its multi-stage frequency control, offering deep tonal sculpting:

Pre-gain Mid Boost: Adjusts the level of mid frequencies before the gain stage. Boosting mids drives the distortion circuit more selectively, enhancing presence and articulation.
Post-gain Bass and Treble Controls: Independent adjustment of Bass and Treble after distortion allows precise shaping of the final output. This enables tight low-end management (avoiding muddiness under heavy gain) and detailed high-frequency control (from smooth roll-off to biting sharpness).

This separation between pre- and post-gain EQ stages provides exceptional flexibility:
you can define what gets distorted and how the result is shaped independently — a powerful approach for sound character flexibility.

The module also features two switches for extended tonal behavior:

Mid Type Switch (2 modes):
Left Position: Applies a broad, low-Q boost centered around ~815 Hz for Mid Boost Control, enhancing body and presence without sounding narrow or nasal. Ideal for bringing signals forward in a mix before distortion.
Right Position: Introduces an additional pre-gain distortion stage focused on mid frequencies. This mode enriches harmonic content across a wide midrange spectrum, effectively acting as a secondary coloration layer. As a side effect, it slightly enhances low frequencies, adding weight to the signal.

Gain Range Switch (2 modes) and Gain Control Potentiometr:
Low Gain: up to 20× — suitable for overdrive, dynamic saturation, and detailed harmonic shaping.
High Gain: up to 200× — delivers intense, expressive distortion with strong character and full control over saturation depth.

Thanks to this wide gain range, the module covers everything from subtle coloration to extreme signal destruction, while maintaining responsiveness.
