Record level expander for the LOFI uTape Scrubber Microcassette Looper

Add RECORD level control to your LO-FI uTape scrubber module!

Originally the LO-FI uTape scrubber was balanced to give a near 1:1 match between audio input signal and it's recording. The Sound on Sound recording style of the module (unless you use the manual erase head) means recording signal level are important.

Sometimes we want to record softly other times we want to slam the tape!

Mixing sound with SOS recording really depends on signals and frequency content.

When making SOS recordings it helps to raise the level to force new sounds onto the tape but to start with lower level recordings.

The record input circuit of the uTape Scrubber can be overdriven!

The result is more tape saturation and a higher output signal level from the tape recording upon playback.

The control on the expander will allow for X2 gain at the MAX position, normal level (1:1) in the middle position and can be attenuated down to the bottom position.

To install the expander just connect it to the main uTape scrubbers "REC LVL" socket using the shielded 3pin cable included.

Module includes cable to connect to uTape Scrubber and mounting screws.
