Quadipus

Voltage source, distribution, and macro utility

Quadipus is an expandable distribution utility designed for both CV and audio signals. Any signal patched
into the input is distributed to four outputs, each with its own dedicated attenuverter for precise control
over level and polarity.

Each attenuverter uses a smooth S-curve response, providing a slower, more controlled transition through
the center of the knob. This makes it easier to dial in an accurate zero point at the center position,
especially when working with bipolar CV.

The blue master level knob acts as a global macro control, allowing you to boost or attenuate the entire
module with a single gesture. A dedicated polarity switch flips the input signal’s polarity before
distribution, affecting all outputs simultaneously.

When no cable is connected to the input, Quadipus automatically normalizes an internal voltage source to
the input jack. This turns the module into a flexible multi-output voltage source, with each output offering
its own independent level and polarity control.

Quadipus features bi-color (green/red) LEDs on both the input and each output. These LEDs are most
informative when monitoring non-audio-rate signals. Slower signals allow the LED to visibly change
between green and red, clearly indicating signal shape and polarity.

When processing audio-rate signals, the LEDs still reflect signal activity and polarity, but because
audio-rate is much faster than the eye can resolve, the rapid green/red transitions visually average to a
yellow glow. In this case, the LEDs act as a useful indicator of signal presence and relative level rather
than waveform shape.

Quadipus is designed to scale, and can be expanded practically indefinitely using Limbs expander modules, connected via the 2-pin header on the rear of the module. This allows a single Quadipus to drive a very large number of outputs while retaining the same control structure.
