Module is available as a DIY project only.

This Module is currently available.

CV to MIDI, arduino based with open source software.

This is a general purpose Arduino based platform designed for CV to MIDI conversion applications (not MIDI to CV !).
It is based on an Arduino Nano or Nano Every.

Typical functions: simple CV to MIDI, multiple detuned voices, chord generation, pseudo-granular, tintinnabuli, CV control drums, triggered drums.

The intention is to provide a reasonably flexible platform with basic open-source software that can be tailored to individual needs and operated without the need for tiny LCD displays and “menu diving”.

The module has:
• 7 front panel controls. All of the controls generate voltages that are processed by the Arduino. Any processing (e.g. attenuverter functions) needs to be done in software.
• A front panel CV input dedicated as 1V/octave:
o Input range: -1.5V to +5.5V (7 octaves)
o Resolution (theoretical): 7mV, 12 cents
• Four general purpose CV inputs on the front panel.
o Input range -5V to +5V
• Two digital inputs: one dedicated as a gate input, the other is uncommitted.
• Two mode selector push buttons with associated LEDs
• One LED indicator (on D13)
• MIDI output (TRS-A)
• MIDI input (universal TRS-A or TRS-B, auto switching)

With the exception of the “1V/OCT” input scaling, all of the inputs and controls are uncommitted to any specific function by the hardware – what they do will depend purely on the software.

The PCB also has a standard PC “waveblaster” connector that can be used to install an optional sound module for internal sound generation, the following have been tested, both use the Dream SAM2695 General MIDI chip:
- Dreamblaster S2 from Serdaco BV
- a “hacked” M5stack MIDI module

The audio output from the waveblaster module is via a stereo (TRS) jack on the front panel.
