Dual VCF
The Strainer is a dual VCF (Voltage Controlled Filter) with an intuitive and minimalist design for quick and easy use. Each filter features a LowPass (LP) or HighPass (HP) mode, a CutOff frequency control knob, a Resonance knob, and a CutOff Voltage Control (CV) input with an amplitude control knob.
It’s a powerful and versatile Eurorack module suitable for live performances, music production, and sound experimentation, thanks to the frequency shaping it provides to oscillator waves (voices) and the harmonic distortion it can generate.
The Strainer allows for Subtractive Synthesis by filtering the spectrum of the input signal, removing harmonics or partials from its spectrum. Each filter mode (LP/HP) subtracts harmonics from a specific spectral band.
It features a special function to connect the two filter channels, enabling the construction of band-reject or band-pass modes, or even to increase the dB/Decade drop of the LP or HP modes.
