D-425 3-track drum pattern generator (or 3-track 16-step trig seq) module for Eurorack / Doepfer A100 system.
Encoder is used for moving cursor and entering items by pushing, then encoder changes values, confirmation by pushing again.
Short button is used for entering to pattern edit or as “escape” from another modes.
Long button (approx. 1s) is used for displaying big pattern numbers
Holding button enters to “menu setting” bottom line
100 common pattern memories (shared between tracks, all editable), pattern edit is made in-place and instantly saved
Settings menu items:
trig length 1-10ms (“=IN” means output length is same as input, it allows generating gates if input is gate with some length)
reset behavior (stay = first step is made with first clock after reset, first=reset itself makes first step, last=reset itself makes last step)
pattern length (2-16 step)
pattern load mode (show /pattern preview/ = new pattern is displayed but actual pattern is played while new pattern is confirmed, direct = new pattern is instantly loaded while turning encoder, number = only number is changed at turning, actual pattern is played and displayed until confirmation)
Jumpers are used for stopping movement at the end of range:
Top jumper = rollover for arrow/menu/pattern edit
Bottom jumper = rollover for pattern numbers
Preloaded patterns are 16 beat 1-20 BD, 21-40 SD, 41-60 HH/perc, 8 beat 61-70 BD, 71-80 SD, 81-90 HH/perc and 91-99 are an regular clock divisions
D-425 can be a great companion for the D-430 Drum Boy three-channel drum sound generator
