Voltage controlled 2-way switch
A voltage-controlled 2-way switch - think of this as a single-channel version of the 2WAY manual switch, but with a voltage controlled 'ON-ON' switch.
Note that the switch is bidirectional - the usual use-case is '1-in, 2-out', that is to say a single input which can be sent to one of two sources. However, it's possible to switch one of two sources to a single output.
It all makes sense in context.
This module uses the Maxim DG419 switch IC, meaning that it will handle +/-12V signals quite nicely compared with the CD4066 which generally tops out at +/-8V. The switch will actuate given a 5V gate signal and will remain 'switched' as long as the gate is high - if you wish to use it as a 'momentary' switch then a trigger signal will do the job, otherwise you'll be wanting to use a gate instead.
Eagle-eyed viewers will notice and unpopulated footprint (D4) on the circuit board - whilst the switch input of the DG419 will happily tolerate 12V, if you're feeling particularly paranoid (or bored) then you can fit a 5.1V or 5.6V Zener diode here.
Supplied with mounting hardware and a power cable.
