Eurorack Valvecaster Overdrive
This is a Eurorack implementation of the popular Mitsumin "Valvecaster" valve overdrive circuit, with CV control of gain via a vactrol - a nice platform to experiment with Valvecaster feateres in the Euro format.
The valve heater can be powered from the +12V, -12V, or an external supply.
The valve circuitry can be run from a 12V or 24V supply.
The quoted current draw exludes the valve heater current!
Further info on current draws:
Heater Supply
The Valve heater supply can be from the euro +12V, the euro -12V, or an external supply. The following all draw appromimately 150mA for the heater at a stated heater supply of 12.6v, so will (should?) draw a bit less with a 12V heater supply: ECC82/12AU7, ECC81/12AT7, ECC83/12AX7
The heater of the ECC85 that I used draws 450mA at 6.3V – I would suggest that you do not power one of these from the standard Eurorack +12 or -12V supplies!
