Space Case TE-2 [White]

Cassette Tape Delay

MAIN KNOBS:
TIME: time/speed/delay adjustment
FDBK: feedback amount
HPF: 24 db/oct adjustable high pass filter. This processing applies to tape signals
LPF: 24 db/oct adjustable low pass filter. This processing applies to tape signals
RES: amount of LPF resonance. Self oscillation can be reached
TAPE IN: Amount of input signal sent to tape, corresponds with NCM tape type selector switch to the right
MOD AMT: amount of sine wave modulation of TIME
MOD SPD: speed of sine wave modulation of TIME
TAPE OUT: echo/tape output level
DRY OUT: dry level output level
OUT DRV: amount of overdrive applied to total combined output signal of Tape Out and Dry out
ANMLY: Anamoly amount, corresponds with Anamoly polarily switch to the right

BASIC CV JACKS and KNOBS:
TIME: +5V/-5V, Input CV signal mixes with onboard signal. Attenuation available
FDBK: +5V/-5V, Input CV signal mixes with onboard signal. Attenuation available
HPF: +5V/-5V, Input CV signal mixes with onboard signal. Attenuation available
LPF: +5V/-5V, Input CV signal mixes with onboard signal. Attenuation available
REC: +5/0V rising edge triggers/toggles record mode. Main REC button stays active as well
MTR: +5/0V rising edge triggers/toggles pause. This is an electronic "motor kill", with a musically physical result
T LVL: +5V/-5V full signal strength, controls Tape Level
RES: +5V/-5V full signal strength, controls LPF resonance level

SETS:

[ WHITE ] TOGGLE AND SLIDERS
TM/MS/RS: ( TIME / MOD SPD / RESONANCE ) choose which parameter the set engages
ON: enable the set, LED indicator illuminates, set is active
DRIFT KNOB: from zero to 8 full seconds, the slew/drift/blue between set step points (1-8, during Cycle runs) makes adjustably smoother transitions from step to step
(jack): When the set is ON, this jack carries the output CV +5V/-5V signal that mimics the active set based on the faders. When the set is not ON, this jack functions as a hard input to the parameter selected. Therefore, MS could be selected, which is not in the other CV jack set. You could choose to ignore the SET/STEP function of the TE-2 and use this jack as a simple CV patch point

** [ GREY ] TOGGLE AND SLIDERS**
FB/MA/LP: [ FEEDBACK / MOD AMOUNT / LOW PASS FILTER ] choose which parameter the set is
ON: enable the set, LED indicator illuminates, set is active
DRIFT KNOB: from zero to 8 full seconds, the slew/drift/blue between set step points (1-8, during Cycle runs) makes adjustably smoother transitions from step to step

[ BLACK ] TOGGLE AND SLIDERS
TL/DL/HP: [ TAPE LEVEL / DRY LEVEL / HIGH PASS FILTER ] choose which parameter the set is
ON: enable the set, LED indicator illuminates, set is active

CYCLE:
RUN: This button activates the cycle
1-8 rotary selector: This selector sets the total number of steps the cycle oscillates through. Choose "5" to have the cycle rotate through steps 1 through 5 only
Cycle Knob: Controls the rate, from around 10 seconds between each step, to audio rate frequency. This allows for a wide array of modulation speeds and musical effects from such
(jack): +5V/0V. While the cycle is running, this jack outputs the cycle triggers. While the set is not running, this jack offers an input jack to control the cycle motions, in step by step triggers.

SLIDERS:
Think of it like this... The main knobs near the bottom center fully control the machine's parameters when the #1 light is illuminated which means Set 1 is selected. But, when set 2 is selected and illuminated, then you have three definable parameters that can take over from the main knobs. With the Set section above the sliders, you could define RS (resonance), FB (feedback), and DL (dry level), and then when you press a set# besides 1 (which selects main knobs to be in control), your group of three sliders (White, Grey, Black) take over those parameters which are then que'd to however you have your sliders positioned. You can choose to only use one or two or all sets, by simple turning ON the set or not turning it on. So for example, you could simply have the WHITE set control TIME and turned ON, and then when you press any of the buttons 2 through 8, your WHITE SLIDERS would set the TIME amounts respectively. This would allow you to manually jump between different TIME settings, or you can also RUN the CYCLE to rotate between all of the 8 different TIME settings.

SET 1-8 BUTTONS
1-8: Manually select a set to immediately go to the set of slider positions for selected parameters

LOWER SECTION: INTERFACING AND SPECIAL TOOLS
M OUT: Modular level output
M IN: Modular level input
M/GND: For eurorack, this is a second input. For banana, this is the ground jack
IN: TRS/TS Balanced/Unbalanced Input, level selectable to be GT (HI-Z unbalanced), -10 (-10dBv line level unbalanced), or +4 (+4dBu line level balanced)
INSERT (symbol): TRS/TS Balanced/Unbalanced insert connection, level selectable to be GT (HI-Z unbalanced), -10 (-10dBv line level unbalanced), or M (modular level)
OUT: TRS/TS Balanced/Unbalanced Output, level selectable to be GT (HI-Z unbalanced), -10 (-10dBv line level unbalanced), or +4 (+4dBu line level balanced)
NM-CH-MT: Switch to choose the tape bias, from Normal, Chrome/II, and Metal
-/+: Switch that chooses the polarity of the Anomaly. If negative, the pitch/time of the anomaly will dip "down." If positive, it will bump "up."

TRANSPORT BUTTONS
STP/EJ: Stop and eject
REC-ECHO: Enables record mode and echo mode. Material is printed to tape
PLAY: Enables forward motion of the transport, moves the tape
RW: Rewind
FF: Fast forward
LOOP-SOS: Disables the record head, allowing for sound-on-sound layering and also allows seamless loop tape creation since there is no silent gap between the (previously) erase head and playback head.
PAUSE: Mechanical pause button, lifts the transport from tape but keeps the gears and motor running
