Eurorack Video Patchbay
The Video Switchboard Eurorack module is a video-art tool meant to live at the center of your experimental modular video synthesizer: all your analog video gear can be connected to it, allowing you to quickly connect your devices and experiment with different signal routings.
You will also find a dirty mixer section, that allows you to add a glitch effect when mixing two different video sources.
Each module allows for 8 inputs/outputs, and the layout is designed to be stacked with other copies of the module.
Jacks labeled "1A" to "4A" are connected to the first row of RCA connectors, while jacks labeled "1B" to "4B" are connected to the RCA connectors on the second row.
Each jack is also internally connected (fully normalled) to the one on the opposite column with the same number. For instance, "1A" is linked by default to "1B", so you won't need to patch a cable between "1A" and "1B" to connect them, they are already linked inside the patchbay.
If you plug a patch cable into either "1A" or "1B", this internal connection will be interrupted, and the video won't flow between them unless you reconnect them with a patch cable. This is true for each pair of jacks.
You can use these internal connections to build your default setup that will be ready without any patch cables, and then use the cables to make changes or completely re-route your setup.
On the lower right you can also find a dirty mixer: the potentiometer blends the videos connected to its two inputs and generates a glitch effect during the blend unless they are genlocked (i.e., share the same sync timing).
