CV gesture recorder
Kappa is a 4-channel gesture recorder and CV playback module designed to capture the movement of a knob and reproduce it as a precise, repeatable control voltage. By recording the exact motion of the Record Knob, Kappa lets you turn live, expressive gestures into modulation sources for filters, VCAs, oscillators, or any CV-controlled parameter in your system.
Even after powering down, Kappa retains all four recordings in non-volatile memory, so your gestures are always ready when you turn the module back on. Two playback modes, Retrigger and Chopping, give you precise control over how an external clock reshapes your recordings, stretching them to match tempo or chopping them into rhythmic, resynced fragments. This makes Kappa a reliable gesture-to-CV source for both studio and live performance.
Kappa works with +12V/79mA and -12V/27.5mA. The height is 3U, and the width of the module is 8HP. Comes with an Eurorack power cable and M3 screws.
Each of Kappa's 4 channels has a recording time of 20 seconds. Resolution is 12 bits.
Note: Recording is never interrupted by playback, mode switching, or Lo-Fi toggling. If a slot already contains a recording, pressing Record again will overwrite it as soon as knob movement is detected.
