4XXX Compressor is a fabulous tool inspired by the most famous and most used British stereo bus compressor.
Our new 4XXX Compressor is a fabulous tool inspired by the most famous and most used British stereo bus compressor. It was used on tons of famous albums since the eighties to this day.
This compressor is also called the glue compressor because it makes all the elements of a mix to sit together and sound like a pro record.
It will make your drums pump, breath and sound like on records.
The manual controls are:
- Stereo input level. Adjust input level so the input peak red LED do not light up. If the red LED lights up, reduce input level till it stays dark (or barely lights up)
- Stereo makeup gain level. It compensates the output signal for the gain reduction after compression.
We added the option to also control it with external control voltage (CV). For example you can use a sequencer to control the makeup gain level.
- Compression threshold level. It is the point from which compression starts, the lower the threshold the higher the gain reduction.
Gain reduction is indicated by the four LED gain reduction meter.
- Attack time. Compression starts after the time dictated by this control. Faster attack means instant compression, slower attack lets transients go thru without compression.
- Release time. Compression will end after the release time of you choice. Short time means recover will be fast, long time means compression lasts longer. There is also an AUTO RELEASE setting which means release time will adapt to signal content.
- Compression ratio. It defines how intense is compression above threshold. A 2:1 ratio means for every 2dB above threshold the signal will increase only 1dB. A 10:1 ratio for every 10dB, the signal will increase only 1dB.

These merchants probably sell this module. Huh?
