Line Out is an attenuating function designed to bring modular level down to typical, line-level.
Line Out is an attenuating function designed to bring modular level down to typical, line-level. It is DC coupled and can pass CV or audio, and is generally useful with audio signals. It can be used for CV signals as well, but the taper is better suited for audio applications. It uses a 3.5 mm input to be compact, so you'll need one of our 3.5mm to 1/4" cables or an adapter to connect to 1/4" devices.
Compared with the Atten-A, the Line Out has two advantages. First, it has a -6 dB pad which means that even when the knob is at the maximum, the signal is still attenuated by a factor of 2. This gives the knob a more useful range for dialing right gain. It also has a buffer so the line-level devices see a constant, low impedance.
At 1 o'clock the signal is off and at 11 o'clock the signal is at maximum.
