4-Channel Analogue Sequencer: A Playable and Experimental Powerhouse

This 4-channel analogue sequencer is designed for immediacy, playability, and creative experimentation. With a simple, clean layout, it invites exploration while offering deep functionality for crafting complex evolving patterns. Whether you're composing intricate melodies, generating modulation, or experimenting with unconventional rhythms, this sequencer is designed to be fun and inspiring.

Main Features

2 Banks of Voltage Sliders:
16 sliders (8 per bank), each equipped with ON-OFF-SLIDE toggle switches, provide precise control over voltage levels for each step.
Dual 8-Step Sequencers per Bank: Each bank powers two independent 8-step sequencers, allowing for intricate layering of patterns.

Internal Analogue Clock Source:
Built-in falling ±5V sawtooth oscillator serves as the primary clock signal, driving all sequencers.
Clock Tempo Modulation: A CV input with an attenuverter controls the internal clock tempo, enabling dynamic timing changes.
Example: Use one of the sequencer’s own CV outputs to create variable or odd timing for the clock, adding rhythmic complexity.

Intuitive Clock Control:
Start Button/Input: Starts the clock and resets all sequencers to their Loop Start positions.
Stop Button/Input: Stops or resumes the clock.
Step Button/Input: Enables step-by-step external pulse syncing for manual or semi-random control.
Creative Self-Patching:

Self-patch the Direction, Clock, or Reset Inputs with End-of-Loop Pulse Outputs to generate more complex and evolving sequence patterns.

The module offers a comprehensive array of 8 CV outputs:
Seq 1
Seq 2
Seq 3
Seq 4
Seq 1 summed with Seq 2
Seq 3 summed with Seq 4
Seq 1 switching to Seq 3 (behavior defined by PCB jumper setting)
Seq 2 switching to Seq 4 (behavior defined by PCB jumper setting)

Switching Behavior:
The PCB jumper setting determines when switching between Seq 1 and Seq 3, or Seq 2 and Seq 4, occurs.
Option 1: Switching occurs when the currently playing sequence’s End Pulse goes high.
Option 2: Switching occurs when the Bank A sequencers’ End Pulse goes high.
This configuration allows the creation of patterns with lengths of 16, 14, 12, 10 steps, etc., by adjusting the loop lengths of the Bank A sequencers.

The 6 Gate Outputs are:
Seq 1
Seq 2
Seq 3
Seq 4
Seq 1 switching to Seq 3
Seq 2 switching to Seq 4

Per-Channel Sequencer Features:
Each of the 4 sequencers is packed with features for maximum flexibility:
Loop Start & Loop End Controls: Define the playback range for focused pattern editing.
Direction Control: Set the sequence to play Forward, Reverse, or modulate direction via CV input.
Independent Clocking: Use the Reference Input to clock each sequencer individually or synchronize with external sources.
End-of-Sequence Pulse Out: Output a pulse at the end of each sequence for event triggers or advanced clocking etc.

Expandable Functionality:
Pair this module with the Sequencer Expander Module to unlock additional features and advanced controls, further expanding the possibilities of this versatile system. The expander is highly recommended for users seeking deeper creative control.

Applications and Creative Uses
Pattern Creation and Layering:
Use the dual sequencers to create overlapping patterns for evolving melodies and rhythms.
Combine Seq 1 + 2 or Seq 3 + 4 outputs for extended 16-step sequences.
Complex Modulation:
Treat the sequencers as programmable envelopes or LFOs, using the loop controls for cycling modulation.
Dynamic Performance Control:
Manipulate sliders in real-time to sculpt sequences during a live performance.
Use ON-OFF-SLIDE toggles to introduce rests and slides for expressive playability.
Clock Synchronization and Odd Timing:
Use the CV-controlled internal clock to generate variable rhythmic patterns.
Sync with other sequencers or modular systems to act as either a master clock or slave for tight integration.
Self-Patching Creativity:
Create evolving and intricate patterns by self-patching Direction, Clock, or Reset Inputs with End-of-Loop Pulses. This enables highly dynamic and interactive patching possibilities.

Summary
With its blend of intuitive controls and deep functionality, this 4-channel analogue sequencer is perfect for musicians and sound designers alike. Its ability to act as a master sequencer, modulation source, or even a performance tool makes it an essential addition to any Eurorack setup. Pair it with the Sequencer Expander Module for the ultimate sequencing experience
