Dual Sample / Track & Hold
A focused and flexible utility module built around two independent Sample & Hold circuits, each switchable to Track & Hold operation. Designed for precise voltage capture and dependable performance, this module excels at both traditional control-voltage duties and experimental signal processing.
In Sample & Hold mode, each channel captures and holds the input voltage whenever its Gate input goes high, producing stable stepped voltages for pitch, modulation, or generative patching.
When Track & Hold mode is selected, the output voltage follows the input as long as the input remains above approximately 1.3 V. If the input drops below this threshold,
the output enters hold and retains the previously tracked voltage. This behavior allows for controlled gating, rhythmic voltage capture, and musically useful modulation effects.
The circuitry is fast enough to operate at audio rates, making the module suitable for creative techniques such as stepped modulation, clocked audio sampling, and lo-fi “bit-crushing” effects when driven by an external oscillator.
