ZVEX / WHORES. band
We worked very closely with Tommy at ZVEX over the last two years to get this pedal exactly right. If you are a fan of the band or a fan of anything ZVEX has done and you are reading this, you probably know how important tone is to everyone concerned.
We initially tested a Fuzz Factory prototype with killer sounding vintage Motorola silicon transistors. We then started testing a variety of matched transistors with a socketed fuzz factory, and we decided to go with a super – sweet sounding matched pair of vintage 1960s military spec RCA 2N1384 germanium transistors. This thing is so gnarly.
Each pedal is hand built and tested at ZVEX HQ in Minneapolis.
There are an extremely limited number of these available. The transistors were sourced from a vintage surplus store, and Tommy at ZVEX thinks they were very likely used in military communication devices.
