Analog 8 Step Sequencer - CV/GATE

The VAEMI Analog Sequencer is a compact, standalone sequencer, fully analog in design with a classic 8-step structure. Hand-built with through-hole components, this device offers a reliable hub for those seeking pure analog control both on stage and in the studio.

Its fully analog circuitry, combined with stepless CV knobs, allows frequencies to be adjusted completely freely and with micro precision. This enables unlimited tonal and rhythmic variations without digital limitations. In addition, thanks to its analog architecture, the device can also flawlessly detect and operate with very high-frequency clock signals via the Clock Input, offering a wide range for extreme tempo and experimental scenarios.

Powered by a 12V–15V adapter, the sequencer provides 8V CV and 5V Gate outputs. It is compatible with all modular and standalone systems.

Controls:
Each step has an individual CV knob and a Gate On/Off switch. These switches allow you to manually determine on which steps the gate signal will be sent. The CV and Gate outputs are grouped on the top panel as “CV Out” and “Gate Out.” There are two different gate outputs: Short Gate Out and Long Gate Out.

Step numbers are located above each knob and can be followed sequentially through green LEDs. In addition, a blue LED indicates the Long Gate signal.

Built-in Oscillator and Clock Input:
The device features an internal oscillator that determines the tempo of the sequence. Tempo can be adjusted via the control knob on the front panel. A Clock Input is available for synchronization with external systems. When a clock signal is connected, the internal tempo circuit is disabled, and the device operates with the external clock.

Reset Function:
A red Reset button and a Reset Input jack are included. Reset In operates with a 5V gate signal. When the signal arrives, the sequencer returns to step 1 and stays on that step for as long as the signal lasts. This feature allows for the synchronization of multiple sequencers or creative pattern variations.

Hold Function:
A green Hold button and a Hold In jack are provided. When Hold is active, the sequencer remains on the current step.
When Hold is enabled: Long Gate Out produces a constant 5V, while Short Gate Out continues to carry the clock signal.
The Hold In jack is triggered by a gate signal of at least 1V.

The VAEMI Analog Sequencer is a classic sequencer design offering direct control, live performance interaction, and a fully analog circuit structure.

Key Features
Fully Analog Design — 8-step, standalone format, built with through-hole components for pure analog performance.

Stepless Frequency Control — Stepless CV knobs allow micro-precise and completely free frequency adjustments.

High-Frequency Clock Compatibility — Thanks to its analog structure, it can detect and operate with very high-frequency signals on the Clock Input.

Wide Compatibility — 8V CV and 5V Gate outputs ensure smooth operation with all standalone devices and modular systems.

Full Control per Step — CV knob and On/Off gate switches for step-by-step gate management.
Two Separate Gate Outputs — Short and Long gate outputs for flexibility in rhythmic accents.

Visual Step Tracking — Green LEDs for step numbers, blue LED for long gate signal monitoring.

Built-in Analog Clock — Adjustable frequency with the tempo knob, independent use via clock oscillator.

External Clock Synchronization — Clock In for sync with other sequencers and systems; internal clock automatically disabled.

Reset Function — Reset button and Reset In jack (min. 5V gate) for instant return to step 1; stays on step 1 for the duration of the signal.
Master Start/Pause Switch — Start/stop control with a single action.

Hold Function — Green hold button and Hold In jack (min. 1V gate) to remain on the current step; when the gate is active, Long Gate Out outputs constant 5V, Short Gate Out carries the clock signal.
Live Performance Ready — Real-time manipulation, pattern variations, and analog response feel.

Power Requirement — Operates with a 12V–15V adapter.

Dimensions

Power Consumption and Supply Information
Can be used with adapters providing 12–15V DC voltage.

The adapter’s supplied current must be at least 50mA for the device to operate. In this case, power consumption may vary between 0.6W and 0.75W depending on load requirements.

Inputs
Clock Input – External clock signal input, disables the internal clock circuit.
Reset Input – Reset input triggered by a 5V gate signal.
Hold Input – Hold input triggered by a gate signal of at least 1V.

Outputs
CV Output – Control voltage output at 8V.
Long Gate Output – 5V gate signal, outputs constant 5V when hold is active.
Short Gate Output – 5V gate signal, carries the clock signal when hold is active.
