Tap Tempo Chorus/Vibrato

We´ve always been hugely in love with chorus-type effects: be it the shimmery vintage sounds or the dark, moody sounds of modern-day stompboxes.

One thing all those pedals we loved had one thing in common: a completely analog signal path and caused by that an authentic, smooth sound that had a certain LoFi-quality to it! On the downside most of these lovely devices were missing versatility, so we designed one that lived up to our own expectations and desires: The Trugbild! (German for “mirage”)

While featuring an all-analog signal path we controlled the vintage bucket brigade devices with a digital LFO-section that opens up the gateways to soundworlds, that you´ve never deemed possible with chorus: we added three waveforms (sine, triangle and a pretty unique random LFO), extended the frequency range of the LFO to work over 9 octaves, yielding modulation cycles from 40ms (almost ring modulation-sounds here!) to a massive 20 seconds - which can also be set by a tap tempo switch and added a mix-control to blend seamlessly from your dry signal to a full-on pitch vibrato! Next to the depth control which sets the peaks of the LFO you can furthermore influence the intensity of the effect through the “lag” knob, which intensifies not only the pitch-effects but also adds some analog LoFi-noises at high settings - warning: classic chorus sounds are only to be expected in the fist half of the potentiometer travel, yet you´ll find some nice warped vinyl sounds in the second half!

Last but not least we added an active tone control on the modulated part that adds the ability to go from shimmery 80´s chorus to sombre sounds that create a lush atmosphere. Higher settings here will intensify the LoFi-character as expected from a vintage effect!
