Noise Engineering
Flying fast from the dark depths of Noise Engineering's cavernous DSP laboratories, Batverb is a stereo reverb pedal and synthetic tail generator capable of a wide range of unique time-based effects. Inspired by a unique algorithm from their formidable Desmodus Versio module, Batverb offers a plethora of delay lines which you can manipulate to craft a billionaire's utility-belt worth of delay and reverb tones. In classic Noise Engineering style, there is also an onboard distortion effect to introduce rough and raucous saturation into any atmospheric creation.
Despite the complexity of Batverb's sound, using it is surprisingly simple. Set a predelay time with the time control and feedback with Regen, which introduces anything from simple slapback to ghastly infinite resonances. In the center of the pedal, the Doom control adds suboctaves to impart a tense and cinematic low end, while the Shimmer control adds eerie overtones. Adjust between high and low dampening with the Focus switch, and add interactivity with the ducking feature to create gated reverbs that track your input amplitude. Finally, add the rich saturation of Grit to either the blended output or only the wet signal, and set levels to taste with the input and blend controls.
In addition to this generous assortment of tone shaping parameters, Batverb is built for action, offering a number of ways to add expressive control over its sound. The Hold switch offers classic buffer-freeze effect to create rich infinite drones, and with MIDI or expression control, you can quickly get Batverbs parameters moving in the midst of a performance or studio session. Whether you're a stompbox sidekick or a dark knight of tone, Batverb from Noise Engineering is an inspiring source for unique reverb and delay effects, augmenting any rig with aggressive, atmospheric bliss.
