Vintage tone doesn't get much more iconic than this. The MXR Distortion II was produced from approximately 1978 to 1984 and was specifically designed to replicate the sound of an overdriven amplifier pushing a 4x12 cabinet — big, punchy, and unmistakably analog. The Drive, Resonance, Filter, and Output controls give you everything from a gritty mid-pushed crunch to full-on saturated rock mayhem, and that built-in resonance control is what sets the Distortion II apart from the crowd — it adds a low-end thump and cabinet-like weight that still sounds enormous decades later. This example is in excellent condition and comes complete with the original mustard yellow box and original operation manual — a rare and complete survivor from one of the golden eras of American pedal building.
