Look up onA modern, hand built take on the cult InterFax Harmonic Percolator, the circuit Steve Albini made famous. This is not a fuzz and not quite a distortion. It is its own animal, built around a mix of PNP germanium and NPN silicon transistors that throw off rich even order harmonics you do not get anywhere else. The result is complex, vocal, and instantly recognizable. Two knobs run the show. Harmonics (H) sets the input gain, from a touch of harmonic richness all the way to broken speaker chaos. Balance (B) sets your output. The rocker switch is the magic: flick left for the original 1970s voicing, flick right for total destruction. It tracks your picking dynamics and volume knob beautifully, so it cleans up and digs in with your hands. Known to its fans as a sonic doomsday device, but it dials back to a subtle harmonic sweetener just as easily. Hand built in Oakland, California.Cosmetic notes: IBM Tan colorway.Includes: No box. Pedal only Why I’m selling: Thinning out the dirt pile. This one is too unique to sit in a drawer.Finding gear that helps you express yourself is part of the musician’s journey.
