Look up onThis is a hard one to give up - but I'm going to commit to my decision to keep the Crazy Tube Circuits Stardust for my fender in a box type needs. I have to appreciate two major differences in this pedal from the Stardust - one is the obvious 2-band EQ that is powerful but crucially allows you to reduce both bass and treble in order to boost the volume for more mids - which is a major advantage of this pedal. It's a powerful EQ and preamp type pedal, it functions as a great overdrive that cleans up well - or it can be that foundational amp in a box at the end of your chain. I think the Stardust 'feels' more like a fender to me, but I'm sad to give up that sweet EQ control. Next difference is the sheer amount of gain on tap - the Stardust is a little more subdued but gives you plenty - whereas this Lovepedal variant is much more aggressive - at least that's my takeaway from comparison and partly that could be the EQ's impact. Below are some specs for the pedal - it's not clearly labelled but easy to work as you get into it. Thanks for checking it out!The Lovepedal Blackface Deluxe Overdrive is a highly regarded "amp-in-a-box" pedal designed to capture the iconic, cranked tones of a 1960s Fender Deluxe Blackface amplifier.Knob Layout: Simple 4-knob interface featuring Level, Gain, Treble, and Bass.Voltage Support: Can be operated from 9V up to 18V for increased headroom and dynamics.Authentic Amp Breakup: It excels at capturing low-gain, touch-sensitive, edge-of-breakup responses that mimic a real tube amp.Interactive EQ Layout: The active dual-band EQ shapes the signature mid-scoop of American blackface circuits when dialed past 12 o'clock. Lowering both EQ knobs while raising the Level creates a subtle mid-boost.High-Gain Versatility: When cranked, it introduces significantly more drive and growl than typical blackface pedals, pushing into "cranked small combo" territory.Low-End Management: At high gain levels, the bass can become loose or "flubby". Utilizing the dedicated bass control is crucial to tightening up the low-end response.
